RayBan still needs a new flock. Trying one more time for this gentle, social boy. Orpington/Brahma mix, hatched Feb 2025 and already past the dreaded first spring hormones. Enjoys human attention and is kind to his ladies (who he stole from my other roo).
In Machias area, but can give him a ride to a new home within reasonable distance. Not for eating, please.

RayBan is tired of being the #2 rooster in his flock. Unfortunately, that means he's got no place here. Do you have a flock for him? Ray is a 1 year old BYM who likes people, dogs, and free ranging. He's good with the ladies too.

A little nighttime chicken-butt video. The chicks are 2 days old and basically spend all night shoving each other. They could move back 4 inches to where the plate is lower and sleep lying down, but they choose to try to sleep standing up/leaning on each other 🤣
This video is also a good illustration of why you probably need your heat plate set lower than you think!

It's the magical season of Too Many Eggs! From now through Sunday, all eggs (chicken AND duck) in the roadside cooler are pay-what-you-want. I'll keep it stocked until I run out!

We're winding hatching egg season down early this year. I'll have Olive Egger/Easter Eggers for another week. I'm also not going to be hatching many chicks here. Just need a break!
I'll still have LOTS of chicken and duck eggs for eating.

Elvis, Black Copper Marans rooster, seeking new flock. His sisters lay lovely dark eggs. He is one year old, great personality, gentle with hens and people. I'm downsizing my flock and breeding plans, so he needs to move on.
Machias area, but I can meet elsewhere for the right home.

I'll be hatching a single batch of Olive Egger chicks this year - for pickup between April 11th and 18th. These chicks will be first, second generation OEs as well as some backcrosses (BCM rooster). I will be offering rooster takeback later in the summer (only for boys hatched from my eggs).
