The kind that buzz with excitement as they gaze across our fields full of blooms and pollen. They have hard work at the center of their community and know that they can’t do it alone!

We have officially wrapped up lambing and kidding season here on the farm, and the barns are full of bouncing lambs and playful goat kids!There’s nothing quite like new life on the farm to remind us that a new season is on the way!

🌾✨It’s the FINAL COUNTDOWN✨🌾

The incredible turnout this year has made us the happiest pumpkin patch around! Because of your amazing support, we project that Wednesday, October 29th, will be our final day of the season.
We anticipate selling out of our last remaining pumpkins by the end of the day on Wednesday. If you still need a jack-o'-lantern, an autumn centerpiece, or a final fall photo, come see us before it's too late!
We’re open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday noon-6pm. Thank you for a truly wonderful season! 🧡

If you’ve ever smiled at one of our painted pumpkins, there’s a good chance you’ve admired Jennifer’s creativity at work! For years, she’s brought color, imagination, and plenty of personality to our pumpkin shed!

Jennifer has a gift for coming up with fun, kid-friendly designs that make our youngest visitors light up with joy and adults too! 🤣 From sweet faces to whimsical characters, her pumpkins capture the heart of fall in every brushstroke. And of course, her husband Zach lends a hand — adding his touch of humor to the funny and silly ones that always get a laugh! 😄🎃

We’re so grateful for Jennifer’s creativity, hard work, and the laughter she brings to Shady Knoll each season. Our pumpkin shed just wouldn’t be the same without her! ❤️

We’ve been blessed to have the Godfrey family as part of our Shady Knoll crew for over eight years — and what a joy they’ve been! ❤️

Kyle is one of those people who makes even the hardest days lighter. From picking and unloading pumpkins to cracking a dad joke just when it’s needed most, his positivity and sense of humor keep everyone smiling through long days in the field.

Jessica’s bubbly personality and artistic eye shine through in the painted pumpkins she helps create — each one as cheerful and full of life as she is. And their daughter Lorelei is never far behind, lending a hand and learning what farm life is all about. 🎨🎃

We’re so thankful for this hardworking, kindhearted family who brings laughter, color, and joy to Shady Knoll every season. The farm just wouldn’t feel the same without them. 🍂

Some people come to help on the farm, and others become part of the family. Tyler and Mikayla are one of those special couples whose hearts have become rooted right alongside ours.

Tyler has been helping here for over 10 years—his hard work, reliability, and sense of humor have carried us through countless seasons of planting, picking, and harvesting. He knows the rhythm of the fields like few others do. Mikayla joined the crew two years ago, bringing her creative spark and artistic touch to everything she does—from painting signs and decorating displays to helping with pumpkins and fieldwork.

Together, they’ve been a blessing to our farm and our family. Watching them work side by side—with muddy boots and matching smiles—reminds us that the heart of farming isn’t just in the soil, but in the people who pour themselves into it.

It’s no secret that the most beautiful things we grow here aren't always in the soil. For 10 incredible years, my wife, Shelby, has been the absolute backbone of this farm.

Our story began right here at the farm and every year since, she has poured her heart, talent, and energy into making this place special. We simply couldn't be the farm you know and love without her.

Shelby is a woman of quiet power and immense skill. Her incredible artistic talent shines through in every unique sign, charming display, and personal touch that greets you when you visit—she truly brings our farm to life! Beyond the creativity, she is the brilliant mind managing our entire online world, expertly running our page and website that keeps our community connected. And then there's the work few ever see, but is the most essential: Shelby is the meticulous secretary and IT department who keeps the engine running. She tackles all the hard tasks of scheduling that keeps our farm organized and stable so we can focus on farming.

The amount of detail, organization, and problem-solving she handles is staggering, yet she does it all with such unwavering grace and calm strength. She takes the chaos and makes it order. Thank you, my love, for a full decade of unwavering dedication. You are the heart and soul of our wonderful family farm! Shelby, you are the foundation beneath our feet and the constant light in our home and business. Thank you for your fierce dedication and for allowing us to lean on your unwavering spirit.

🌾To plow, to plant, to preserve; The heart beat of the farm🌾

Every successful farm has someone who quietly carries the weight of the work, grounding the operation with dedication and patience. For us, that man is my husband, Christian, who proudly represents the 6th generation on this land. He is the son of Gene and Beri, and our devoted Farm Manager.

While he might be too humble to admit it, Christian is the one responsible for the smooth, day-to-day operations of the patch. From sun-up to sun-down, he's checking everything out to ensure our pumpkins are perfect and your visit is legendary. He’s also the creative eye behind the scenes, carefully arranging the beautiful family photo ops and positioning the cherished old farm equipment for everyone to enjoy.

For Christian, working this land is so much more than a job—it’s a calling. The farm seasons bring challenges that only farming families truly understand: long hours, uncertain weather, and the constant need for patience. I see firsthand how his faith is the quiet strength that sustains him through every planting, growing, and harvest season. It’s what helps him face every challenge with an enduring sense of hope and gratitude. Christian carries his parents' legacy not just in his hands, but in his heart. His dedication is a reflection of his commitment to keeping this beautiful place thriving, and to honoring the tradition built by his family. He believes that running the farm is a way to serve our community, providing a place where local families can create cherished memories year after year.
