Our first cutting was all wrapped up in the beginning of June! Good way to celebrate dairy month!

The spring push on a dairy farm never stops. Between spreading manure, planting corn, establishing new seedings, and keeping up with the daily care of 1,500 cows, there’s one job that can’t wait—first cut haylage.
Getting first cut harvested in late May into June is critical to producing high-quality forage that fuels our milk cows for the year ahead. Every day matters when it comes to capturing the right balance of yield, energy, and protein. The long days, changing weather, and nonstop workload make it one of the busiest times of the year, but seeing the bunker full with top-quality feed makes all the hard work worth it.
From the fields to the feed bunk, great milk starts with great forage.
