🍉🌧️ Sorry I’m posting this a little late! I was going to post last night, but I laid down to put Willow to bed and… well, I passed out myself! 😂😴

Yesterday, even in the rain, we were out picking red AND yellow watermelons! 🍉💛❤️

And I have to say—if you’ve never tried a yellow watermelon, you HAVE to give one a try! Once you do, you may never want to go back! 🤤🍉

We only raise seeded watermelons because, in our opinion, they have SO much better flavor than seedless! 🌱🍉

We always hear people say they don’t want GMO or overly engineered foods… so we like to ask, why would you want a seedless watermelon? 😉🌱

So make sure you stop out at the West Allis Farmers Market TODAY and grab yourself a watermelon (or two!) for your Labor Day celebration! 🇺🇸🍉🎉

See you at the market! ❤️

🌱 A Little Vegetable Reality Check… 😂🐝

We hear it from customers all the time:

“Why isn’t your produce bigger and more perfect?”

“Why does your stuff smell like a vegetable?” 😂

And honestly… we love those questions because they give us a chance to explain what we believe.

Here at the farm, we believe God created things the way He wanted them created. What may look like a blemish, a mark, an odd shape, or a smaller-than-average vegetable to our eyes is still perfect in His eyes. It’s exactly how He made it.

And that’s why we try really hard to let nature do what nature does.

We don’t like spraying chemicals just to make something look prettier, bigger, shinier, or more “perfect.” Around here, the only time we really want to reach for a chemical is when we’re about to lose a crop to something we absolutely do NOT want around. 😂

And there’s a pretty good reason you’ll see—and hear—so many bees around here. 🐝

When we’re picking zucchini and squash, you can walk up to a plant and suddenly realize you’ve got an entire bee convention happening right in front of you. 😂 They’re everywhere, buzzing around, doing their jobs, pollinating and working away.

They don’t bother us… unless you accidentally grab one. 😳

Then they make it very clear that they have boundaries. 😂🐝

But seriously, watching them work is one of the coolest parts of being on the farm. It’s amazing to watch how they communicate, pollinate, work together, and play their part in creation.

So yes, sometimes our vegetables have a little character.

Sometimes they’re crooked.

Sometimes they’re small.

Sometimes they have a blemish.

Sometimes they smell like an actual vegetable. 😂🌱

And we’re okay with that.

Because we’d rather have something that looks like God made it than something that looks like it came out of a factory.

Perfect doesn’t always mean pretty. Sometimes perfect means exactly the way God intended it to be. ❤️

And we’ll keep doing our best to grow it that way.

🌧️🌶️ Rain or shine, we get it done! 🌶️🌧️

What do you do when it rains? Well… when you’re a small, family-run farm, you put on your rain boots—or in our case, go barefoot—and get to work! 😂

We don’t have big machines that pick everything for us, and we don’t have tons of extra help we can just send out into the fields. We do it ourselves! 💪👩‍🌾

Here we are, picking eggplants and peppers in the POURING rain! 🌧️🍆🌶️ And honestly… we had a blast! Daisy, Cindy and I were all barefoot, turning it into our very own mud spa day! 😂🦶🛁

That’s farm life—muddy, messy, wet, and full of memories. ❤️🚜

And now we need YOU! 🫵

📍 Tomorrow at the West Allis Farmers Market
⏰ 1:00 PM

Come see us, grab your fresh veggies, and help us SELL OUT FAST! 🥒🌶️🫑🥕🧅
Because Daisy and Cindy have a very important mission afterward… 🎶🤠 TIM MCGRAW at Alpine Valley in East Troy! 😂❤️

So come early, shop local, support a small family farm, and help us send these two off to their concert! 🎤🎶

🌧️ Farm girls don’t let a little rain stop us! 🌧️💪❤️

🥕🥕🥕 Carrots, carrots, carrots! 🥕🥕🥕

If you’ve never had one of our yummy carrots, you’re missing out! 😋🥕❤️

Today is extra special because 40 years ago today, my great-grandpa, Elmer Robran Sr., had his picture in the newspaper washing carrots with this exact same carrot washer! 📰🥕🚜

If only this carrot washer could talk… just imagine all the stories and memories it could tell! ❤️ What a special piece of our family’s history to still have today. 🥕✨

Here’s to generations of growing, washing, and sharing delicious carrots! 🥕❤️

🍅 Tomato Canning Night! 🍅

Well… we started our tomato canning tonight! 😂 Our goal was to get 30 jars done, but we ended up with 20 jars. Hey, it’s a start! 🙌

Our goal is to put up 100 jars for the winter because we absolutely LOVE our stewed tomatoes! ❤️🍅 This year, for the first time, I’d also love to make some plain tomatoes and tomato sauce. 🍅🥫

And honestly… after tonight, we’ve decided we definitely need our own reality TV show. 😂📺 People would be SO entertained by us! 🤣

20 down, 80 to go! 💪🍅 Let the canning continue! 🫙❤️
