It’s pepper season 🔥 🔥 🔥

On our farm and other across the state of Wisconsin, peppers have popped almost overnight. Whether you’re a heat seeking adrenaline ju**ie or a sweeter, gentler tongue, now is an excellent time to find peppers at the farmers market.

Here is our favorite, and super simple, way to make hot sauce:

Easy Homemade Hot Pepper Hot Sauce
4-5 Hot Peppers of your choice
5 cloves of garlic
2 teaspoons salt
1 cup white wine vinegar

Remove stems. Removing seeds and pith (optional). The seeds and pith (white ribbed part holding the seeds) is where the heat of the pepper is, so more pith equals more heat.

Boil the peppers and garlic in white wine vinegar for about 5 minutes. Let the liquid cool a bit, move it to a blender, add salt and/or other desired spices. Blend it smooth.

There are many ways to make hot sauce, including complicated fermentation processes and bottling. This is our favorite because it is simple and easy. We love making different kinds throughout the season with different peppers and different flavors.

Note: Wear gloves or make sure to wash your hands after cutting hot peppers.
