I’m raising farm kids. Kids who know chores don’t wait, hay doesn’t stack itself, and “I don’t feel like it” doesn’t feed a single animal. My kids are learning early that what depends on you comes first. Horses eat before you do. Gates get checked, chains get latched, and you walk back one more time—just to be sure.
But more than that… I’m raising kids who have already felt what a lot of people don’t face until much later.
We’ve said goodbye more times than I ever wanted them to. Four horses in two years. One of those goodbyes happening at 1am, through a phone screen, when my daughter had to tell her pony she loved her one last time over FaceTime. Those are the moments that change you forever💔
My kids know that nothing in this life is guaranteed. They’ve lived it. They’ve felt how fast everything can change in a single moment. They’ve cried, they’ve asked hard questions, and then somehow… they’ve gotten back up and kept loving anyway.
They are kind. They are polite. They love with their whole hearts. And when life asks them to be tough—they are that too.
I’m raising kids who work hard without needing to be told. The kind who notice the empty bucket, who grab the feed scoop, who step in because they know it matters. Around here, “you’re too little” turns into “let me show you how”—and one day that turns into capable, dependable adults.
I’m raising kids who love deeply. The kind of love that isn’t just the pretty moments—it’s the cold mornings, the night checks, the vet bills, the hard decisions. The kind of love that shows up even when it hurts.
I’m raising kids you’ll want in your corner. The ones who stay steady when things fall apart. The ones who know how to keep going, even after heartbreak. The ones who have both softness and strength.
My kids won’t grow up thinking the world owes them anything. They’ll know you earn trust, you earn respect, and you take care of what takes care of you.
They might smell like horses, dirt, and a little bit of heartache—but I’m okay with that.
Because I’m not raising perfectly polished kids.
I’m raising farm kids 🩷💙 And I wouldn’t have it any other way!
