While some would consider me old, certain things still cause a sense of awe in me. One of those things is the way of nature. When we give the cows a new pasture I always experience that awe. The grass and clover that grows readily on the farm is almost totally unusable by humans for nutrition. Yet the cows thrive on it. They utilize it and produce milk that is highly nutritious for people in a variety of forms. The symbiotic nature of the relationship between the soil, the cows, and people truly is magical.

Redneck water cooler! One of the wonders of living in the mountain region of Pennsylvania is the random springs along the mountain roads. This specific one is in Blacklog Valley. We pass it on our delivery route and frequently stop and fill a cup. Someone keeps it mowed and clean. The cup is a nice touch too. The water is cold and really good!
