This cheerful old weather saying comes from Kent, England. M. E. S. Wright recorded it in A Medley of Weather Lore, identifying it simply as a “Kentish saying.” Its original author and exact age remain unknown.
Nineteen beautiful days aren’t guaranteed, of course—but it’s a lovely reminder to enjoy October’s golden afternoons, crisp air, and pumpkin-covered porches. 🎃
