🍅 LOCAL GROWERS MARKET is really starting to pick up momentum! Several vendors had fresh vegetables available this week, and one vendor mentioned they will have fresh tomatoes tomorrow.
•Vendors typically arrive between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. and begin packing up between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m.
•If you have produce or locally grown goods you’d like to sell, come join us!
•The market is held every Thursday.
•Please note: yard sale items are not permitted.
🫙 Y’all have canned a ton of green beans this week! For those of you who haven’t used our cannery before, here’s how it works:
•Snap your beans. You can do this at the cannery, but most people prefer to do it at home.
•Once you get here we will blanch your beans for 5 minutes.
•Then you will fill your jars or our cans with the blanched beans, add 1 teaspoon of salt (bring your own, or we have some available for purchase).
•Next, top off your can/jar with hot water.
• Then place the lid on the jar/can. If using a can, we’ll assist you with sealing the can.
•You will be assigned a number—please write this number on each lid.
•We will place your beans in the pressure canner and begin the process.
•Payment is due at this time: $1.50 per can or $0.40 per jar. All canned products must be paid for when the pressure canner is started.
•We will let you know what time your product is finished cooking. Your cans/jars
will need time to cool, so you may wait, return later the same day, or pick up the following day.
Please note: No equipment will be started within one hour of closing. This allows enough time to complete processing and clean up properly.
Cannery Hours:
Money, Tuesday, Wednesday 8 to 2
Thursdays 8 to 8
•Meat canning day is Wednesday
•Fruit/Veggie canning days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
Y’all come see me,
