Lucky No. 8 🍀✨

Can’t believe it’s been 8 years since I started this sober journey, and this last one has been a doozy! 😵‍💫😅 It’s been full of fears, scares, challenges, and ups and downs; but I sure as heck know I wouldn’t be where I am today if I was still drinking and drugging.

My higher power and I know I can be a “hot goblin”: sometimes a dream and sometimes a nightmare. But by golly I’d rather be a hot one than a drunk one! 😂 I hold myself accountable for my crazy because I’m the maker of it.

I’m most proud that I can be seen as a responsible human being and relied on when times get tough. Life hasn’t been ideal lately, but I show up…SOBER…and accept life on life’s terms. Let’s continue the trudge (walking with purpose). 😌

This is how you do cream cheese 🥯🤤

I’m not a frequent flyer at BAGEL HOUSE, but when I have a hankering for a bagel with cream cheese, this is one of my go to places 😋 They have an incredible selection and, as you can see, they know the proper cream cheese to bagel ratio!

What you have here is their French Toast Bagel with Cream Cheese. I don’t usually go for a sweet-style bagel, but this is such a treat! The caramelized sugar on the outside is heavenly! ✨

Meating & Antiquing 😋✨

I should have known I was in for a treat when Cody booked our calendars for the Warren County Antiques Show. Not only was the event great, but we also got to enjoy The Angry Chouriço BBQ! 🤤

It is one of our absolute favorite food trucks! We usually don’t get to enjoy them until PA Bacon Fest, but Cody sniffed them out at this event. As always, we were not disappointed! Their pulled pork sandwiches are incredible! We cannot recommend The Angry Chourico BBQ enough!

Can’t wait to see them compete at Festa Italiana in a few weeks in downtown Easton, PA on Sunday, September 13th!

Chick in a Blanket 🐔🥓🤤

Shoutout to my mom for introducing me to these Bacon Wrapped Chicken Tenders! You’ll only need 5 ingredients to make this quick and easy appetizer. Heck, you can even make a batch of these for meal prep! 😋

Ingredients:
1/3 cup dark brown sugar
2 Tbsp chipotle powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
8 chicken tenders (about 1.25 lbs)
8 slices reduced-sodium bacon

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

In medium shallow bowl, combine the dark brown sugar, chipotle powder, and garlic powder.

Wrap each chicken tender in a slice of bacon. Secure the top and bottom of bacon with two toothpicks per tender.

Roll each bacon-wrapped chicken tender in the brown sugar mixture, and place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

Allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet. Transfer to a serving plater and drizzle the drippings from the baking sheet over the tenders. Enjoy!

Serving 18-century realness, honey! 🍋✨

I am beyond excited to share my editorial debut as a contributor in the Summer 2026 issue of Edible Lehigh Valley!

We are diving into the history of Switchel—aka “Haymaker’s Puunch.” Think of it as nature’s Gatorade. It’s packed with sweet local honey, tart apple c***r vinegar, and a spicy ginger kick to help us survive these humid PA afternoons. Keep it nonalcoholic and hydrating, or spike it with dark rum for a Colonial Dark & Stormy! 🥃

Donut or Doughnut? 🍩🤤

Got to try my first glazed donut while on the Historic Easton House Tour 😋 It was a tasty treat while venturing to the next home.

did such an incredible job! The variety of homes was incredible and all of the volunteers were fabulous! It’s absolutely worth doing if you want an inside look at Easton’s history!
