A Father Figure first...

We just landed on the shelf at The Soulful Palette in Wareham (5 Elm St)!

We're super excited to be partnering with a business so dedicated to the local community, their store is PACKED with the craft workings of local artists and businesses.

They also go above and beyond to support our kids.

I guarantee youll be psyched to check out their kids section β€” local kids 16 & under selling art and products they made themselves, and 100% of those proceeds go straight back to the young entrepreneurs all while being mentored and taught valuable business skills. It absolutely lights up the ...SOUL.... of us here at Father Figures to be invol with that. (See what we did there 😁)

Speaking of supporting local kids β€” we're looking to connect with youth organizations in Wareham. As always 20% of every single sale goes back to supporting our kids and I want 20% of every sale we have in Wareham to stay in Wareham. If you know a one or better yet represent one drop it in the comments!

Lets go!

Start of summer tip for our outdoors families; Went to Horseneck Beach and paid $0 to park. (Also had a seagull make friends with our truck)

That's the DCR annual parking pass doing its thing.
It's $60 for the whole calendar year. Horseneck alone is $14 a visit β€” the pass pays for itself in 5 trips. After that you're just going for free.

For South Shore families, here's where it works:
πŸ“ Borderland State Park, Easton β€” $5/day
πŸ“ Watson Pond, Taunton β€” $8/day
πŸ“ Myles Standish State Forest, Carver β€” $8/day
πŸ“ Nantasket Beach, Hull β€” $15/day
πŸ“ Horseneck Beach, Westport β€” $14/day

Beaches, ponds, trails, forests β€” all of it covered under one pass for the year.

You grab it through the YODEL app, it links to your plate, and you never have to think about it again. No cash, no kiosk, no fumbling around when you pull in.

If you're trying to get your kids outside without spending $15 every time you park, this is the easiest $60 you'll spend all summer.

This contest showed us something we already believed..

The South Shore is full of people who show up for their communities. Now it's time to find the businesses making a difference.

Who are the companies on the South Shore that you consider pillars of your community?

The ones bringing people together who sponsor everything under the sun. Whether it's the landscaper that sponsors the team every kid wants to play for, the farm stand that's been around forever, or the local grocery or deli where everybody knows everybody.

Tag them in the comments.

We want to shine a light on them β€” and we're also looking to get Father Figure Foods on shelves in places that share our values and find ways to make a difference alongside these town titans. We're a small brand built around community and giving back, and we want our products sitting next to businesses that feel the same way.

But even if it never goes further than a shoutout β€” these businesses deserve the recognition. So tag them. Tell us why they matter to you. Let's give some well-deserved love to the places that make the South Shore what it is.

πŸ‘‡ Drop your tags below.

We want to close out this contest with something important.

When we started the Greatest Sports Dad on the South Shore, we were looking for the kind of dads who show up. Who give their time, their energy, and their heart to kids who aren't even their own. Who make communities better just by being in them.

Jason Richard Brown is exactly that guy.

What we didn't know when this contest started is that Jason is currently facing the fight of his life. He was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 leiomyosarcoma β€” a rare and aggressive cancer in his left leg. In the coming weeks he'll begin radiation five days a week for five weeks at Dana Farber in Boston, followed by major surgery in mid-July, and then months of recovery and rehabilitation.

This is the man who has been coaching Abington kids since 2010. Varsity Football, JV Basketball, JV Baseball. Abington Little League. Boys Travel Basketball. Fifteen years of showing up for everyone else's kids.

Now he has three kids of his own β€” Finn, Maverick, and Grace β€” watching their dad step into the hardest game of his life.

The financial strain of travel to Boston, lost income, and everyday family expenses adds up fast. A GoFundMe has been set up to help Jason and his family get through this. They're close to their $100K goal and every bit helps.

If Jason has ever impacted your life, your kid's life, or this community in any way β€” this is a chance to give something back.

The man who has stood on the sidelines for all of us deserves a team standing behind him now.

πŸ† WE HAVE A CHAMPION.

The Greatest Sports Dad on the South Shore is...

Jason Richard BROWN β€” ABINGTON.

Fighting for Abington Little League from day one, Jason's community showed up every single round. Fifteen years of showing up for Abington kids, and tonight his town showed up for him.

Charles Wooten Jr. β€” Brockton, you ran an incredible contest. Your community bought more than any other town in this entire competition and put serious money back into Brockton Junior Boxers Football. That's a win no matter what the scoreboard says.

To every dad who competed, every town that voted, every person who shared a post or placed an order β€” thank you. You turned a seasoning contest into something that actually mattered for kids across the South Shore.

---

πŸ’› AND WE’RE NOT DONE.

We've raised over $240 for local youth sports throughout this contest and checks are going out to every league this week.

And because Abington showed up the way they did, we’re keeping the good going. From now until June 15th, 20% of all sales goes back to Abington Little League.

No code needed. Every order on fatherfigurefoods.com counts.

Thank you Abington. Thank you South Shore. This is what Doing What Dads Do actually looks like.
