A little greenery goes a long way! 🌿💚

Fresh herbs and delicate microgreens are some of our favorite finishing touches in the kitchen. They bring a pop of color, a little extra texture, and a wonderful burst of flavor to our dishes. At Hambleton House, we believe presentation should be as thoughtful as the ingredients themselves; it's our love letter to fresh, seasonal cooking and creating food that's as beautiful as it is delicious.

There’s something special about that little window of time between “I do” and dinner. 🥂💚

Cocktail hour is where the celebration really starts to settle in. Guests mingle, glasses are raised, and everyone gets a chance to enjoy a few delicious bites before finding their seats for dinner.

From beautifully presented hors d’oeuvres to thoughtfully curated grazing stations, we love making this part of the day feel just as memorable as the moments that surround it. After all, cocktail hour isn't just a pause between the ceremony and reception. It's part of the celebration itself!

We’re doing it again! 🎉 Our 3rd Annual East End Block Party is coming back to Dover Station November 12–14, and we’re already getting excited for another weekend of good food, live music, cold drinks, and plenty of familiar faces.

This has become one of our favorite weekends of the year, bringing together Hambleton House, Dilley Dally BBQ, our friends and neighbors, and some pretty great local partners for three days of fun. 💚

🔥 will be firing up the smokers with pulled pork, pork chops, brisket, pulled duck, chili, Frito pie, walking tacos, and all the BBQ sides.

🍹 will be mixing specialty cocktails, while Buddy Harrison and bring the oysters, crab cakes & Orange Crushes. Our friends at will be joining us, too!

🎶 Saturday’s live music starts with Blues Deville from 1–3pm, followed by Down the Road Southern from 4–7pm. We’ll be sharing Friday’s music lineup soon!

And between bites, grab a seat on the hay bales or challenge someone to a round of giant Connect Four or Jenga. There’ll be plenty of space to settle in and spend the day with us.

Soup season has officially entered the chat. 🥣🍂

The temperatures are starting to dip, and we’re more than ready to welcome soups back to the menu. Velvety roasted squash & pumpkin, potato & leek, rich lobster bisque, and everything in between, this is the time of year when a warm bowl just hits differently.

We love letting the ingredients lead the way, taking what’s fresh, local, and in season and turning it into something warm, comforting, and made for a chilly fall day on the Eastern Shore. 💚

There are some things that just belong at an Eastern Shore gathering, and a freshly shucked oyster is high on the list. 🦪

Our oyster shucking service brings a little bit of the Shore straight to your event, with locally sourced oysters opened and served on-site for guests to enjoy at their freshest. As an Eastern Shore-based, farm-to-table caterer, working with ingredients that reflect where we live is a big part of what we do, and extremely important to us; we love building menus around the palette of our region.

And honestly, nothing gets a party going quite like gathering around the raw bar as those first few oysters are opened!

There’s something about a beautiful charcuterie spread that makes people want to gather around. 💚

Traditionally, charcuterie is built around cured meats, cheeses, breads and crackers, with accompaniments like fruit, nuts, olives, pickles, preserves, and a little something sweet to round it all out. For us, that’s just the beginning.

We love taking those classic elements and turning them into something that feels abundant, seasonal, and completely suited to the occasion. Different textures, colors, flavors, and thoughtful little details all come together to make each board feel as special as the event it was created for; because a good charcuterie board should taste beautiful and look the part, too.

We’re so proud to announce that we are a sponsor for this year’s Bailando con las Estrellas ("Dancing with the Stars!"), a fundraiser that benefits the essential work that the Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center does in our community 💃✨

Next Saturday, local dancers from across Talbot County will take the stage at the Avalon Theatre for a night of friendly competition, community, and a very good cause, in honor of Hispanic Heritage month. Every vote and ticket purchase supports the ChesMRC and the work they do to help individuals and families from different cultures connect, thrive, and become engaged members of our community.

Crab season isn’t over just yet. 🦀

Around here, we’ll take our crab just about any way we can get it: picked fresh, tucked into crab cakes, rolled into crab balls, folded into a creamy dip, or served up softshell when the season is right.

And with local crab still going strong through September, there’s plenty of time to keep this Eastern Shore favorite on the menu.

Because really, is there such a thing as too much crab? We don’t think so. 💙

“We couldn't have been happier with our experience with Hambleton House Events & Catering for our Eastern Shore wedding! From start to finish, everything was exceptional.

Our guests are still talking about the food. The brisket carving station was an absolute standout - perfectly smoked and incredibly flavorful. The raw bar was another huge hit, especially having an oyster shucker on-site serving fresh local oysters.

They also made some of the best gluten-free crab cakes I've ever had, which our guests with dietary restrictions truly appreciated.

They also brought a vintage popcorn machine that was such a fun late-night surprise, and I have to mention the cookies... they were honestly unbelievable. I don't know what magic is in those cookies, but they disappeared almost instantly and everyone was raving about them.

Beyond the amazing food, the staff was professional, friendly, and helped everything run seamlessly. If you're planning a wedding or event on the Eastern Shore, I can't recommend Hambleton House enough. They truly exceeded our expectations and helped make our wedding unforgettable.”
