Our farmette raises cashmere and angora goats. We tend to the herd, work in the garden, bake, and then hike, bike and run to remain fit.

We design timeless knitwear using luxurious fiber and develop fabulous cuisine with local produce.

I am happy to announce that Simsbury Twist is now getting test knit by the testing ninjas. This top down raglan, which features cables on both the front and back body was knit with Quince & Co's Hawk. The yarn had tweedy bits in it and was a simply lovely blend for excellent drape and cable capture.

Simsbury Twist will publish in December.

Antoinette, a sweater designed as a tribute to my mother, is now published. This beautiful Fair Isle uses 8 fi*****ng weight colors to produce a stunning show piece. The summer requires garden focus which inspires color selection for Fair Isle projects. My focus has been filling in gaps, improving color over longer periods and using my sweet Poppy (angora goat) to help with weeding.

Antoinette is ready for test knitting.
This top down sweater is symmetrically balanced thanks to 8 gorgeous colors from Harrisville Designs Shetland brand. Our size inclusive design comes in 8 sizes with finished chest measurements of 36 (39.5, 44.5, 48, 53.25, 56.5, 60, 63,5)“ / 91 (100, 113, 122, 135, 144, 152, 161) cm.

Traveling to the Bare Naked Wools retreat, with a stop in Jim Thorpe and Bellefonte, PA, has been a truly enjoyable experience. The architecture and mountains are simply spectacular. Tomorrow the retreat festivities commence and I can’t wait for all things woolly.

Daisy is long overdue for her fiber removal. I delayed her hair cut as it has been so cold in Connecticut. The scruff-a-muffin will be gorgeous before you know it.

I will be visiting the NYC garment district in search of buttons for my Teide vest, and the sheer number of choices may be mind-boggling.

I am spending my Saturday at Simsbury Yarns to unite with fellow yarn enthusiasts who inspire my creativity.

Teide test knit is closing and that means this wonderful cabled sweater joins our designs. My sample was knit in Peace Fleece worsted. I truly connect with the spirit of the yarn and the final resulting garment.
