I had a piece of sirloin from Marble Head Farm that I made into a very comforting pot roast, baked for 2.5 hours, for dinner tonight. It begged for mashed potatoes (CD Produce for the potatoes) with that killer gravy. Some roasted spring onions and carrots from Williwaw Farm and a tomato from Krieders. I still consider this clean eating, it IS farm to table, but let’s face it, it had a few extra calories. It’s ok occasionally! Parsley from my indoor plant. You know around here, we can’t grow it outside!

What a beautiful evening! We grilled Jamaican spiced chicken on charcoal with pimento wood smoking chips. Served with red beans and rice and sautéed cabbage and onion. The spice was another Unboring Your Meat packet. These are soooo good and I highly recommend. I still have the more challenging spice packets to try (mostly Asian), but I look forward to experimenting.

So glad the possible rain held off until later because we were able to grill. I had a 4 rib Iberico pork loin from Campo Grande, which we grilled on the charcoal grill indirectly with cherrywood smoking chips. Served with local, yes local, sweet corn, tomato, salad and spicy baked beans. Corn from CD Produce, tomato from Kreiders, salad from Cottingham Farm.

Lasagna, and despite resting for almost an hour, it still oozed 🙄. A little salad and bread with dipping oil. Sauce made with the last of my Marble Head Farm ground meat. Shopping Saturday!

Crabs! So lucky to live on the Eastern Shore and have them so available! And, so much cheaper than my Frederick friends can get, or others vacationing at the beaches.

Greek marinated charcoal grilled chicken, gigante beans (not really but best I can do with locally available ingredients), sautéed rainbow Swiss chard and Greek salad. Opa!

Beautiful filets that I marinated from Marble Head Farm, grilled on the charcoal grill with a mix of mesquite and hickory smoking chips, sautéed spinach from Williwaw Farm, tomato from Krieders, and I made corn bread with cheddar, jalapeño and scallions. Herbs always from our herb garden.

A BLT, the last of the farm fresh local strawberries from CD Produce, and a wedge of Parmesan is what’s for breakfast.

This afternoon, we went to The Scottish Highland Creamery to get a scoop of my ice cream creation, now called Jim’s Joy. We also brought home four quarts. It was very good, but I had a very emotional day today, starting at the parlor, thinking of my Dad and wishing he could eat this again. 😢 Later, we tried Accanto for the first time. We tried the grilled artichokes with lemon oil for an app. They were very good and quite lemony. Then, we got a Margherita pizza. It was FANTASTIC. Crust delicious, sauce amazing and the cheese… well, we are quite impressed and I look forward to a slice of leftover tomorrow, and a future visit.
