Love and passion. I can say there’s moments where I need my brain to melt and say why do I do this? It’s videos like this that I look back at and say “ we did that”.

This farmland has come with an incredible amount of advocacy on our part along with the Peconic Land Trust. Theres many on the East end that don’t see that the area was built upon farming but at times don’t see what it entails too for the views you see. The life that you live is based upon a gamble from Mother Nature, rising property values, expensive equipment, and an overall lack of understanding of what farmers do and how we operate. While sometimes the hard can feel heavy, I can easily say the long days have been worth it for something so special.

Join us for an evening at Ocean Fog Farm, highlighting local agriculture with Aki Goldberg from Aki’s Kitchen. During dinner, Aki will highlight all that is fresh from our farm and from other farms here on the East End of Long Island. Enjoy the beautiful views of our farm and the native grasslands that highlight the historical farmland in Eastport.

As the golden hour rays begin to reach our farm, you will be met with a beautiful meal and a conversation on local agriculture, given by May Zegarelli, the owner of Ocean Fog Farm, and Farm Manager Em, to highlight the farmland and the conservation efforts of Eastport Farmland.

This intimate, small event is curated by Ocean Fog Farm, Aki’s Kitchen, and Fortunato Photography. To purchase tickets, please see the link in our bio.

Farm updates of the week 👩‍🌾💕.

While this was a harder week because we had issues with our tractor, it still ended on a good note. This is the first harvest of our later variety lilac, our lily’s are slowly coming in and when our tractor came back into service, we found a box turtle hanging out before we passed.

This has been a colder start, but things are trickling in. 💕. My favorite is coming back home and the grasslands rolling from the wind.

This year at our farmstand and RGNY Bloom shop, we’re offering products that are meaningful to our family. We use them daily and we love they are locally made. Aki’s Soups, in particular, have made our lives easier, especially with a toddler at home.

Tommy and I enjoy this soup as a quick meal and appreciate that it features ingredients from local farms like ours. Many of the seasonal soups we will be offering will have produce from our farm used whether its eggs and veggies . Our favorite is the Julienne, which our picky toddler also loves! We often serve it with pasta, and he usually asks for seconds.

Excited for this season, but grateful to be farming in Eastport. In the age of overdevelopment and the need for constant convenience here in Eastern Long Island, the need for preservation of farmland and support to farmers is even greater. The scenes of open land depend on it not only for our small town, but everywhere.

It’s a new season here at Ocean Fog Farm and while a lot has changed over the years, it always feels like I need to take a moment to remember the starting moments to the farm and reintroduce myself. Most of the time you see my pictures with my boots and flowers, but here is my chance to say hello, what’s new and what brought us here. 👩🏼‍🌾😁🦆🌷🍅

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our farmstand this weekend. We are truly thankful and can’t wait for what this season brings. Couldn’t have done this weekend without our team, Zoe, Em, Erica, Matt and Jonathan!

2016, I hung this in the first moments of buying our home, not knowing the true extent to what it would mean to us in the future. I loved seeing how my area grew since the 1940s.

Our farm this year, will be a lot more open, as our small family farm will now be turning into 11 acres. While January is our hibernation time, it’s turned into planning to bring more to our customers- something we thought was a distant dream.

This year will bring more blooms, but more veggies and eggs too. April will bring change and we can’t wait to bring you on that adventure with us as we rebuild this property back to its farming roots.

For our egg lovers- that means lots and lots of eggs coming soon. 😊
