State of the City is just a few months away, and this year’s theme, “The Stories That Make Us,” celebrates the people whose passion, hard work, and commitment help shape Eastvale.

Leading up to the event, we'll be highlighting some of the stories that make our community special. We’re kicking things off with Irene Anderson, founder and owner of Method 78 Fitness. Through her business, community involvement, and regular attendance at Eastvale Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Mixers, Irene has become a familiar face and a valued part of Eastvale’s story. We’re excited to share her journey as we count down to State of the City.

On Thursday, July 16, 2026, deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station and the Eastvale Special Enforcement Team, in collaboration with store Loss Prevention personnel, conducted a retail theft operation in the 12400 block of Limonite Avenue, in the city of Eastvale. The operation was designed to proactively address retail theft and ensure the safety and well-being of both businesses and shoppers in the area. Throughout the operation, several individuals were observed stealing merchandise. Each suspect was apprehended and arrested without incident and later booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center.

The following is a list of persons arrested during the
operation:
- Anderson Torres-Chavarria, 24-year-old resident of Canoga Park, arrested for petty theft.
- Dennis Joao Sangoquisa-Calapucha, 27-year-old resident of Los Angeles, arrested forpetty theft.
- Kent Ma, 60-year-old resident of Pasadena, arrested for petty theft.
- Adriana SantaMaria, 58-year-old resident of Norco, arrested for petty theft.
- Dulce Maria Melendez-Garcia, 34-year-old resident of Riverside, arrested for petty theft and possession of a controlled substance.
- Freddy Perez-Valdez, 37-year-old resident of Norco, arrested for petty theft, possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy.
- Briana Kyshaun Lloyd, 41-year-old resident of North Las Vegas, arrested for vandalism, trespassing and attempted fraud.

This effort highlights the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office
and the city of Eastvale’s continued commitment to addressing theft-related crimes that impact our local businesses and community.

Retail theft operations like this are supported by legislative efforts such as Proposition 36 and are critical in addressing repeat offenders and deterring organized retail crime. It’s important to note that individuals who commit retail theft are subject to arrest and prosecution.

The Eastvale Special Enforcement Team remains dedicated to
creating a safe environment so that residents and visitors alike can enjoy their shopping experience in the city of Eastvale.

The Eastvale Library has officially expanded its Sunday hours and will now be open every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.!

These expanded hours will provide Eastvale residents with more opportunities to visit the library, attend programs, use resources, and enjoy the facility on weekends.

Beginning July 20 through August 31 (weather permitting), the City will begin its 2026 Residential Slurry Seal Project on select streets throughout Eastvale. This preventative maintenance helps extend the life of our roads and improve driving conditions.

The project includes both Cape Seal and Slurry Seal treatments. Crews will perform base repairs, crack sealing, and sweeping before applying the slurry seal surface treatment. Streets will be marked in advance, and notices will be posted to keep residents informed. Construction should not have impact to mail, trash, and other services.

During the one-to two-week curing period, residents may notice temporary discoloration and minor surface variations, which are a normal part of the process. Once work is complete, City staff will conduct final inspections before streets are reopened for normal use.

Refer also to the door hangers for dates and times construction will occur on your affected street and place close attention to the No Parking Sign restricted dates and times.
