We are hiring an Installation Assistant!

Metro Water Filter is a proven industry leader in water treatment sales, installation, and service, and our team is growing. We are accepting applications for a full time position as an installation and rough-in assistant. Plumbing experience is a plus, but is not required. The ideal candidate is polite, punctual, customer service oriented, and enjoys working in a team based customer focused approach. Candidate must be able to work on ladders, in basements/crawl spaces, and be able to lift 50+lbs.

You will be working alongside a licensed Master Plumber performing installations and new construction rough-ins. This experience is invaluable to anyone seeking a career in the water treatment industry or the plumbing industry. Metro Water Filter has programs that will help any individual acquire professional certification, licensing, or CEU hours; we want to set you up for success with our team for years to come. This position is ideal for a candidate who is seeking to learn a valuable trade under a skilled and experienced professional, supported by an excellent and dedicated team.

Merry Christmas from all of us at MWF,

This is a friendly reminder that Metro Water Filter will be CLOSED from December 24th-26th for end of year inventory, and so that our team can spend some extra time with their families this holiday season. We will also be closed Dec 31st at 12 noon, and January 1st & 2nd all day in observance of the New Year's holiday. If you find yourself in need of supplies, we will have salt, potassium, and ResCare cleaner outside the office at 807 Harmony Road in Eatonton on the good old fashioned 'honor system.' Please take what you need and leave us a message on the office phone so we can invoice you when we're back. Please be reminded that we do have a security system, so any vehicles grabbing supplies that 'forget' to call will have their license plate and video sent to the Putnam County Sheriff's office. Our office number is 706-999-9000.

This is a friendly reminder that Metro Water Filter will be closed Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day. We are eternally grateful for those who made the ultimate sacrifice to help make this the greatest nation in the history of the world.

If you are at the lake for the weekend and find yourself in need of supplies, we will have salt, potassium, and Rescare cleaner outside our office at 807 Harmony Rd in Eatonton. Please take what you need, call the number on the door, and we'll invoice you when we open Tuesday, May 28 at 8am. We're proud to be a part of a local community that can still function on the good old fashioned 'honor system,' but we're also up to date on all the technology that 2025 has to offer. As such, there are security cameras on our building that record in HD should the need arise to 'remind' anyone of what they took.

Our team recently had the pleasure of accomplishing an installation for a farmer with a large scale chicken operation. Any issues in water quality will be amplified when you’re using thousands of gallons of water a day. Inflated concentrations of iron, manganese, sediment, bacteria, etc.. will begin to accumulate in water receptacles and prevent livestock from reaching their maximum potential.
In addition if you’re not seeing the feed conversion rate or overall bird health maximized, have you considered how the water quality may be affecting your operation? Consulting with our horse care partners at Piedmont veterinary services and Purina, we learned a lot about the importance of clean water for our horses:
Horses can drink water with some bacteria, but water quality can impact their health:
Total bacteria count: Livestock water should have fewer than 200 bacteria per 100 ml.
Total coliform bacteria: Water should have fewer than 5 coliform bacteria per 100 ml. Water with f***l coliform bacteria should be treated before consumption.
Cyanobacteria (blue-green algae): Water contaminated with cyanobacteria can cause liver damage in horses. Horses should be kept away from water with a bloom and provided with another water source until the bloom dissipates.
Nitrates: Water with less than 400 mg/L of nitrate is generally safe, but water with more than 1500 mg/L may be toxic.
Minerals: Extremely high concentrations of some minerals can be toxic to livestock.

Long story short: we decided to install a commercial water filtration and disinfectant (UV light) system to not take any chances on our horses health. Happy to share more details with other barn managers or any interested horse lovers!
