Piirakkoi LLC bakes traditional Ingrian and Finnish pierogies - breads with sweet or savory fillings. The company is located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Piirakkoi LLC is based in Eau Claire and founded by Krister Paakkonen. The company provides pierogies to local food stores and coffee shops. "My pierogies are sweet or savory breads with fillings, baked in the traditional Ingrian way, as my grandmother and her sister made them. Ingria is a historic province in today’s Russia (roughly between Estonia and St Petersburg.) The majority of the populati

on were Finnish speaking Ingrians up until 1943, when they all were evacuated to Finland. My grandparents and parents would later emigrate to Sweden, where there are still Ingrian cultural associations. Although I was born in Sweden, my family has kept their Ingrian heritage alive by speaking and singing in Finnish, and cooking traditional fare. After flying the flag(s) for over 3 years, Piirakkoi LLC is now closing its operations!
It has been a lot of hard work, long hours and a truly educating experience - and most of all fun! I have made many friends and met so many interesting customers in various venues in the Eau Claire area.

It's time for Art Crawl again!
The biggest annual event at Banbury Place will take place on Friday and Saturday - and Piirakkoi LLC takes part for the 4th time.
Please take your time to experience all the various forms of arts, crafts, foods and drinks. There will be about 100 entities showing and selling their creations, many of them visiting artists.
Our kitchen will be serving hot drinks and baked goods, and have free samples of Finnish pierogies and almond toffee (a tip for Valentine's!)

Saturday, Feb 11, from 9 am to 5 pm

Welcome to Woodman's to sample some baked Finnish pierogies!
Just a few days before Christmas this could be a good idea for a quick bite: no cooking involved, just warming up. Both the cabbage/onion and the Quark cheese/craisin pierogies are quick anytime snacks.
The sampling takes place in aisle 25 of the store.

The weather may be frightful, but this Saturday's Christkindlmarkt will be delightful - it has been moved indoors at Lazy Monk!
The first two Saturdays were outside in pretty, decorated booths (as shown in picture) but the last one will take place inside the Lazy Monk Bier Hall.
Piirakkoi LLC will as usual serve warm samples and have baked Finnish pierogies for sale.
The fair is a German style Christmas market, featuring local vendors such as bakers and chocolatiers, cheesemakers, artists with glass, pottery, woodworking, handmade soaps, candles, rugs, and more.

December is getting colder by each day!
What better way to warm up than having some hot soup accompanied by a baked Finnish Cabbage/Onion pierogie. Or, a sweet Quark cheese pierogie with coffee for breakfast.
Festival Foods is hosting a sampling of both kinds of Piirakkoi LLC products. You will find the sampling station in the frozen foods department, near the 'Pot Pies' sign as usual!

Lazy Monk Brewing will bring a new holiday market to town, which might turn into a tradition: Christkindlmarkt!
The fair is a German style Christmas market with booths, featuring local vendors such as bakers and chocolatiers, cheesemakers, artists with glass, pottery, woodworking, handmade soaps, candles, rugs, and more.
Don't forget to dress well, this will be outside the Lazy Monk building!

Time: Three first Saturdays of the month, December 3, 10 and 17, from noon to 5 pm

The Sixth Annual Craft Sale at the Rambos home is happening this Friday and Saturday. Piirakkoi will take part during Friday, just as last year. It is an amazing amount of unique goods that fit into this private home craft fair. There will be all kinds of home decor, greeting cards, bags, mittens, scrapbooks, toys and jewelry. Piirakkoi LLC will provide warm samples and also vend baked Finnish pierogies.

Welcome to the kitchen! After the Thanksgiving food coma wears off, come visit the Elder Valley shared space this weekend.
We will be open during Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, and serve samples of products made here, such as baked Finnish pierogies and Woodworth's Fine Almond Toffee.
Other stores such as Vintage Junkies, Lake Girl and Lady Amelia's will also be open.

It's time for one of the largest pre-holiday fairs in the area: the Fall Craft County Expo at McDonell High School in Chippewa Falls.
This year's fair is the 32nd and features over 80 crafters and vendors. It is usually a very social outing for both shoppers and vendors!
Lunch and concessions also available. Please note there is a $1 admission.
Piirakkoi LLC will again share the booth with Woodworth's Fine Almond Toffee, offering samples and vending our goods.
Try the Cabbage/Onion pierogie (great with soups or stews, or on its own) and the sweet Quark cheese pierogie, a nice breakfast or dessert treat.

Welcome to visit the kitchen at Banbury Place! The shops in Building 13 will be open extended hours during the annual ”They Hunt - We Shop” event, a good time to browse the shops for cool stuff for holiday gifts (or for yourself.)
Together with Martha of Woodworth's Fine Almond Toffee, we will be serving samples and vending our goods in the Elder Valley Kitchen in room 217.

Welcome to the first indoor market of the season with many of the same vendors from the Phoenix Park Farmers Market.
There are a few new vendors, and also new is an artist each month with unique products: November features kitchen towels with printed recipes - you can have a handwritten recipe transformed into a unique gift.
