Our chore team just got a major upgrade to the setup! We installed an auger, making it much easier to fill buckets from the bin into our Ranger. It speeds up the work and cuts down on lifting - - but Mom is wondering where she’ll get her upper-body workout now!

If you saw Caroline or Cyrus at a cattle show over the past seven months, they were probably trying to sell you something. Caroline was making custom bracelets all the way out in Reno, while Cyrus sold ($5!!) Capri Suns and bottled water straight from his BEAST cooler at the NationalJunior Angus Show — all to raise money for Blakely, Caroline’s sweet friend who was battling aggressive brain cancer.

What Blakely accomplished over these past seven months is nothing short of remarkable. She brought a community together and helped us focus with laser-sharp clarity on what truly matters in life. Livestock ministry prayer groups across the country lifted her up, and families everywhere - at home and so far away - rallied around her.

Tonight, Blakely is safe, healthy, and free in the arms of Jesus. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of what a blessing she has been throughout this entire journey.

Thank you to our cattle friends across the country for praying for Blakely and her family over these last seven months. She changed our lives for the better.

Brisk morning and bright sunshine: Yesterday was an absolute perfect day to sell some Angus cattle - and what a sale it was! Thank you to everyone who bid on and purchased Sankey Angus cattle. From Wyoming, south to Tennessee and dozens of places in between - we’re dang excited about where these Economy, Indiana cattle are headed. Thank you to the Stewart Select Angus family for hosting a top-notch event.

It’s the night before our sale.
Which always brings a wave of emotion. I’m sure that wave has only to do with pure passion and nothing to do with stress or exhaustion 😉
I just think of how far we have come at our place. We unloaded five cows the same year we got married. Replaced every fence and installed a watering system nine years before the house got any attention. For nine years we had windows that stayed closed with duct tape, only. And we survived.
These kids have been feeding - strapped in car seats or on my chest - since they were four weeks old. Tonight they were out here helping, again.
Tomorrow we will sell a handful of cattle, hug (or handshake - it depends on what Sankey you stumble upon) a handful of friends, and sleep really well.

With just one week to go, we wanted to feature two of our lead-off bred heifers. Both are maternal sisters to our high-selling female from last year’s sale and represent the kind of females we believe can shape the future of a program.
