2025 came with many ups and downs for us. Last year we welcomed two wonderful babies that we are incredibly grateful to call our own, but we also faced some very hard losses.
We lost Louka and her c**t by Victor due to foaling complications. There was no hope for the foal, and despite every effort, Louka couldn’t make it through recovery after her C-section. Later in the year, a respiratory virus moved through our herd, and during that time we also lost Victor.
We know many farms had a difficult year as well, and while loss is unfortunately part of this life, it never gets easier.
As we step into 2026, we’re hopeful for a better year for everyone. While it’s hard not to think about the risks, we’re choosing to focus on healthy, happy babies and spending more time with the herd—loving on each of them a little extra.

What better way to celebrate the holidays than with your own Yule mule?

We're happy to say that Cleo has found her home and she didn't even have to go very far, she'll be staying right here! Everybody always warned Ryan that I would want to keep all the babies, but I see now that he's the one I have to watch out for.

Revali says he's not thrilled, but we know that they really do love each other when nobody is looking.

Did You Know?
The European Brabant Registry of America has an incredibly inclusive Appendix Registry! Unlike many breed registries, there are no restrictions on color, conformation, or even breed — as long as your horse or mule has at least 23.5% verifiable European Brabant heritage, they can be recorded through the Appendix Brabant Record!

Here at Limestone Farms, we’re proud to have three amazing equines already in the appendix record:
✨ Revali’s Gale
✨ Foxy Cleopatra
✨ Sleipnir

And we’re even more excited to be adding four more babies next year!

If you're curious about getting your own horse or mule registered, feel free to reach out! The folks at the Registry are incredibly kind and always happy to help you navigate the process.

Did you know draft mules on average can weigh up to 1,600 pounds and still think they can sit in your lap?
(Ask Revali—he’s the expert.)

Here's a little throwback Thursday to baby Revali. He's 3 now and we don't get to lap snuggle anymore, but no matter where I am he's always right behind me. He'll always be my little baby lap mule no matter how big he gets.

When you're just trying to get a sweet, wholesome group photo… but someone (cough Revali, cough Cleo) thinks every picture needs sassy mule ears.

Thank you to Fiona who was a willing and beautifully photogenic participant.

Our 2026 foal crop is officially confirmed, and we couldn't be more thrilled! Here's a sneak peek at the line-up:

Fiona is expecting another mule by the incredible Clyde's Gallant Fox—which means we’ll be welcoming a full sibling to our beloved Cleo next year!

Flora is expecting another foal by the stunning Thorben 466 Sport Elite, making this baby a full sibling to our flashy boy Sleipnir. We can’t wait to see how this one turns out!

But that’s not all...

Both Laura and Picante are also expecting mule foals by Clyde's Gallant Fox, and we are beyond excited to see these long-eared babies arrive! Laura’s baby in particular is going to be a big mule, and with the beautiful roan genetics from both moms in play, we’re eager to see what colors show up in the pasture next year!

Many of these babies are already spoken for, so if you have your heart set on a particular cross or are dreaming of your next partner—now's the time to reach out and get on our waiting list!

Big things are coming in 2026, and we can't wait to share the journey with you!

Our big, big boy is growing fast! Baby Sleipnir is just starting to shed out his foal coat, and we are so excited to see what color changes reveal themselves as he matures. He’s already stunning, and watching his transformation unfold is pure magic.

This sweet guy is a social butterfly through and through—he loves every member of the herd, but he and Foxy Cleopatra are especially thick as thieves. The two of them are constant playmates and bring so much joy and energy to the pasture.

From day one, Sleipnir has been a total lover, and that hasn’t changed a bit. He’s still a full-on snuggler. Nothing tugs at your heartstrings quite like a baby whinny just for you—and when he leaves the herd to come running, it’s enough to make your heart melt every single time.

We all know temperament and conformation come first—you can’t ride color—but Sleipnir truly has it all. He’s everything we hoped for and more. I’m so grateful the plan from the beginning was to keep him, because even if it hadn’t been, there’s no way he’d be going anywhere. He’s home. ❤️

Our little mule girl, Foxy Cleopatra, has already proven she’s got a whole lot of heart packed into her tiny frame. She made her entrance into the world a bit earlier than expected, and from day one, we knew she’d need a little extra help to get her footing. Her very first day involved a trailer ride to the vet clinic, blood draws, and a plasma transfusion to give her the boost she needed. From there, we were sent home with a tough schedule of three injections a day—two different antibiotics to support her early start.

It was hard on all of us, but especially on her. Every time she saw us coming to the pasture, all she knew was discomfort—not love, not safety, just those dreaded shots. It was heartbreaking watching her become wary and scared, and I remember thinking more than once that we might never earn her trust again.

Once her course of medication was finished, we made the choice to stop pushing and let her come to us on her own terms. And then… something incredible happened.

A week passed. Then another. And slowly, Cleo began to choose us. First with cautious steps. Then a little closer each day. A few well-timed scritches here and there turned into full-on snuggles. And now? Now she runs to us in the pasture, tail flying, ears forward, and heart wide open. She leans in for love and offers kisses freely, like she was never unsure at all.

Even Revali is a little jealous—he tries to step in when he sees her getting all the attention! But when it’s just me and Foxy out there, she makes a beeline straight for my heart.

I’m so grateful she gave us another chance. Her bravery, forgiveness, and growing love are a testament to the strong, sweet soul she is. I just know she’s going to grow into someone’s once-in-a-lifetime partner—loyal, loving, and full of joy.

This morning, Fiona surprised us with an early arrival — our long-awaited foal by Clyde's Gallant Fox is here at day 316!

Fiona is doing great and is absolutely loving being a mom again. We took a quick trip to the vet to get baby checked out and to start her off with some plasma since she made her debut a little early. We also came home with some antibiotics and will be keeping a close eye on her.

Introducing Foxy Cleopatra — and she’s already living up to her name with plenty of s***k! So far she’s doing fantastic, and we can’t wait to watch her grow and thrive.

Welcome to the world, Cleo!
