Summer is settling in, and we're clearing out the remaining plants before the nursery closes for the season on June 6.

End of the Row Plant Sale🌱

As summer settles in and the spring planting season comes to a close, we're clearing out the remaining plants before we close up the nursery for the season.
We'll have summer favorites including rudbeckia, zinnias, cosmos, asters, amaranth, coreopsis, and chamomile, along with our collection of unusual sweet stuffing and spicy chili peppers.

Some of our plant selection is beginning to dwindle, but you'll still find a wide variety of starts of summer rudbeckia, zinnias, cosmos, asters, amaranth, coreopsis, chamomile, sweet stuffing peppers, and chili peppers. Many of these varieties will continue growing and blooming through the warm months ahead, bringing color, texture, pollinators, and flowers for cutting.

Whether you're filling a few empty spaces in the garden or adding a few more plants to your collection, I'd love to see you.

It's pinching time for some annuals depending on your microclimate.

Zinnias and basils are great plants to start pinching when you have 3-4 sets of leaf nodes.

For snapdragons, that is really a preference. I personally think it's a waste to not get the full experience of some of taller varieties so I don't pinch any of mine.

If you overwintered dahlias, it is likely a good time to pinch dahlias. Many hybridizers and local dahlia society members will say the number of pairs of nodes varies between varieties but I stick with 3-4 on all mine these days.

Unsure what to pinch and when. Notice a trend of 3-4 leaf nodes? Look for swelling bugs and cut just above.

This is the time I like to plant tomatoes.

Burying part of the stem encourages strong roots and sturdier plants.

I grow tall and dramatic as well as have long trailing blooms that bring movement to the garden and arrangements alike. While some of my cousins are grown for grain, I’m grown for beauty.

I love the heat and truly settle in once summer arrives. My stems add texture and shape to bouquets, whether hanging softly or standing upright. Birds love nibbling on me later in the season as my blooms mature.
