Realized I haven’t posted these boys in a minute and found some pics I had taken. These are two of the kids left from the last kid crop that are still looking for a herd of their own! If you’re interested in a nice quality buck for breeding or some great fiber pets let me know! They’re getting some pretty good sets of horns on them too! And perfect Navajo style too! Makes for easy shearing.

I am so beyond excited and happy!!!
I finally got a new buck, one of the ones I’ve been looking to get for a while now, and oh boy am I happy about this guy! He’s is so sweet and absolutely gorgeous! I can’t wait to use him as our main breeder come fall and see what kids he produces. So stay tuned for next spring’s kidding season!

I still have these 4 Navajo Angora bucks looking for a herd of their own. All color carriers, 3 of the 4 were born colored. Beautiful locks and clean faces and legs, very correct breed conformation. The two on the left will be a year and the two on the right will be 2yrs come this spring. Willing to trade for other Navajo Angoras or hay etc. Message for more info.

Unfortunately we will not be having any kids this year as my plans to get new blood in the herd (a new herdsire or two) did not work out in time so we did not end up breeding when December came around.

I also have been trying to reduce the herd a bit and still haven’t gotten to where I’m wanting to be as we still have a few looking for homes.

I guess this gives me time to reevaluate my herds genetics and look for new stock, especially since most my foundation does are getting up there in age so they’re getting close to the point of retiring.

None the less, next year should be a great kidding season since I’ll be getting in new blood and refining my genetics. I will also be looking for into the registry so hopefully by then we’ll have a batch of registered Navajo Angora!

Some of the gents out and about today. I bent a branch so they all gathered to try and eat it. Can’t wait to shear them when the warm season comes.

On a side note, it seems I always have an “issue” with matted balls on the neck area and I’m not sure yet how to prevent that. They tend to happen early on too so it ends up ruining that part of the fleece.
