The bees have been keeping me busy. They seem to be taking turns going queenless and trying to produce too many queens (not the same hives, of course). So I'm keeping ahead of them, moving things around, setting up nursery hives etc. This is on top of staking tomatoes, putting up bean fences, etc. Anyway, I got to harvest 2 small honey frames, so I have a few blocks of raw honeycomb for the upcoming farmers market.

The red slicers are in, covered, and mulched. Another week (weather permitting) and the rest will be in. Then on to pep

In young plants, root development is more important than top growth. That's why those little plastic multipacks from garden centers often don't do so well. There's simply not enough room for good roots.
