Shout out to our shadow leader. Saving lives and holding down the fort from goat kids to real kids.
As always when you move animals stress is induced and you have to watch early for warning signs of fever and going off feed. We had one of those situation this week. Thankfully Desi as always knows what to do, often times from watching or listening to me ramble, and not from me actually showing her. Lucky my lack of planning works sometimes, as these things come intuitively to her.
24hrs after this, the family has the right meds and the goat that had its tail down and was off feed, was back on feed with tail up and an appetite. Also shout out to the family for keeping good tabs on their animals and getting a temp right away after observing those signs. Team work makes the dream work.
From evolution goats show no signs of weakness or fever until it really hits them, this trait kept them alive on the African Savannah, but makes it very hard to get ahead of sickness here at home. I have no doubt Desi taking time to draw up this medicine saved its life.
