Dreams do come true.

Years ago at Ice Cream 101, we met Sara. She bought a small Taylor batch freezer and told us that one day she was going to open an ice cream shop.

This week, in front of a crowd of a hundred people on one of the hottest days of the summer, she cut the ribbon on something bigger than an ice cream shop.

Get Joy Ice Cream & Coffee in Lower Saucon Township is powered by the Joy Crew, a team of employees with different abilities working alongside mentors who help every person find the role where they shine. Sara spent nearly twenty years as an educator before building the workplace she always wished existed for her students.

Our favorite moment of the day: a Get Joy Crew member spotted his parents in the crowd and waved them over to the counter. "I want you to see me work the register. That's my job. I run the register."

If you've ever stopped at a roadside farm stand, you know how it usually goes. A small setup, whatever's in season, maybe a cooler, a handwritten sign. You grab something and keep moving.

Plum Creek Farm started that same way. A roadside wagon and a simple goal: sell what they grew. As more people started stopping, they kept expanding. Eventually a secondhand Taylor soft serve machine made its way into the mix. Two weeks later, they needed another one. That's when they first reached out to Taylor Products.

Today, Plum Creek is a creamery, a full-service restaurant, and a destination that draws thousands on a busy summer Friday.

"Food is incredibly personal. You can get it right nine times out of ten, and the tenth time is what people remember."

With their local Taylor distributor, Aaron from Taylor Products in their corner, Plum Creek built an operation they can count on, with the support to keep growing into whatever comes next.
