There are few things in life that I care more more about than music. Music made by people I love? Don’t even get me started. Music made by people I love, played live in a place that I love? Potentially the best thing that can ever happen. Thursday June 11 my sweet pal will be playing in the Slough Food courtyard. He’s bringing his friends and Jon Hyde and you really want to be here. Show up around 5:30, earlier if you’re hungry. Drinks available while the music plays! We’ll pass the hat around for tips for the musicians so bring cash and ample gratitude!!! I’m so excited. It’s going to be very very rad. Music ends by 8! (We have neighbors and small towns thrive when courtesy abounds!)

Cappelletti Spritz is back and she brought a friend! This weekend drink specials are the classic Cappelletti Spritz and our house-made non alcoholic spritz! She’s glorious. Hibiscus, grapefruit, clove, black pepper, and orange peel. Finished with sparkling water. The courtyard is in bloom and it’s calling your name!!! Come see us!!

We did it. We have merch! Designed by me, lovingly linocut by and turned out by hand at Chop Shop in Edison with the help of and .meggophone. Because they are handmade by real hands each one is a little different and imperfections are scattered about. But what a glorious labor of love. I love this town. I love my friends. I love my customers. The world feels heartbreakingly precarious, but community does exist and it keeps me moving. Many hands make light work. ❤️

I low key suck at social media, but I high key rule at having friends who pitch in (without being asked because I also suck at asking for help) and get stuff done. Big time shout out to .meggophone and (also the photographer) for being such solid human beings. For showing up with great jokes and stamina and dj skills and good ideas. I’m really lucky. What are we doing here? Hand printing t shirts and tote bags. Mandy linocut my designs and showed us how to make it all go. I’m swimming in gratitude. Slough Food new merch is coming in just about another week!

Heads up friends! Winter break for Slough Food! I’m gonna be closed until Friday February 6th to touch grass and work in my studio and catch up with the homies and think some thoughts about things. December has arrived and I am really excited for this weekend. I’ve hung artwork in so many bars and cafes and coffee shops in my life. And now I have a little spot with a little wall where I can have art made by someone who has supported my art making for two decades. is a juggernaut. There isn’t really a medium that she doesn’t slay. I have her work in my home and on my actual arms. She infuses everything she makes with her very heart and with skill that feels like it comes from a divine source that few can tap into. I’m honored to hang a new series that she has created from pictures I’ve taken of the slough out back. Usually when I’m taking out the trash at days end and I can’t stand to not capture the beauty of the sky reflected in the water. We also get to see something remarkable from whose work blows my mind with its construction and conception. And makes me laugh (he’s funny) and ponder (he’s also really smart). Saturday December 6th I’m staying open until 8 pm to celebrate these two weirdos (term of endearment). Please come see! Drinks and snacks! and and will be open late too. And has their final show. What’s happening lately and upcoming? Well..I went to a Geese (the band) show and I also heard geese this morning during the hour I spend getting acquainted with the day. It’s dark early. Every year I am surprised by just how dark and just how early. Slough Food has seating inside now for when you don’t want to be wind whipped, but still seating outside as always for when you feel the call of the wild (there are heaters and there is cover). I find myself looking inside and outside for spots of comfort and ways to help the folks who need help. We can only gain strength from being in touch with our community and Slough Food provides me so many opportunities to share a little space with so many folks and for that I am very grateful. We’re having a paella party in our courtyard on Sunday 11.9 from 11 to 3. Paella from our buddies , rain or shine. No reservations. Paella to go is always ok! I have a beautiful Spanish red to pour for you and beer on tap and all the rest. Maybe we all need to get together and take a collective deep breath before the holiday season ramps up. We so look forward to seeing you. Truly. ❤️

Folks! Fall is upon us in Edison. Crisp mornings and warm afternoons. We’re having a paella party on Sunday! The 28th! Rain or shine…which means maybe grab a sweater and your raincoat…just in case. Our sweet friends Russ and Morgan from will be holding it down in the courtyard. Full slough food regular menu and lots of sangria from me and Jaime. 11-3ish. No reservations. We are so looking forward to seeing you. (Next up..10/19 ☺️)
