Indigo Acres We are a small family farm dedicated to growing and promoting healthy foods. All of our produce is always chemical and GMO free. Come see us!

We are beginning our 7th season growing and selling farm fresh chemical-free produce. We will also be selling at the Edmond Farmer's Market at 26 W 1st St, just north of 2nd Street and a block west of Broadway at the Festival Marketplace every Saturday 8 am to 1 pm, April 14th thru the end of October. Items can also be purchased online on our website. Please call or message us if you would like a

tour and to learn how we grow a lot of food on just 2.5 acres using the market garden technique. We will be happy to schedule some time for you and your family. OUR NAME - Our tag line at Indigo Acres is "Eat the Rainbow Everyday". We believe God's food, like colorful veggies and fruits are the most healing. So think of that 1960s TV show Green Acres then change the color to Indigo. Also our sunsets here in Oklahoma are beautiful as are the ones on our farm - all shades of deep orange, blue, purple and indigo. OUR BELIEF - We believe that God created food to be healthy and healing. Unfortunately modern growing practices have transformed even healthy whole foods into foods and products that are unhealthy and promote disease. Chemical pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers put an additional burden on our bodies in ways we are just now beginning to understand. OUR PRACTICES - We grow all of our produce the way God intended, free of chemicals and GMOs. We manage the soil, put seeds in the ground and God does the rest. We believe food grown this way can be healing medicine. We pray that all who consume our food are blessed in ways we can only image. OUR GOAL - Our hope is to someday soon grow enough food to sustain ourselves, sell what we can’t eat, and donate the rest. Our ultimate goal is to create a charity that will allow us to give away healthy healing foods to those who desperately need it.

This year kicks off our 11th season and today we celebrate an 11th birthday of our partner – Mia. She came to work on this farm before we even started breaking ground. Since then, she has watched over the crops from deer, removed gophers, and protected us from all the squirrels and the dangerous deliverymen. She is by our side on the good days and the bad ones too. She has always greeted and welcomed every visitor. And when we are gone for even 1 hour, she greets us and loves us like there is no tomorrow. How we separate chunks in our compost - We literally make tons of compost each year, but it can take years for large chunks to break down. So, years ago I built this “prototype” compost sifter to see if it can help with the plans make making a better one. Now years later, the prototype is still a workhorse on our farm. This is one other way we feed our soil.

Question - How long does it take to plant thousands of onions on a regenerative farm? Answer - more than 6 months. That's when we started the compost batch used, then planted a winter cover crop to protect the soil before final bed prep and hours on my knees actually planting. Next week I will treat with a compost tea to stimulate the micrcobial life in the soil, followed by many more months of weeding. But it's worth it to produce the highest quality of nutrient dense food for you and your health. Are you as committed to your health as I am? I'll continue to do my part. All you need to do is purchase and consume our food weekly. Also planted (not pictured) are beets, carrots, spinach, snap peas, lettuce, kohlrabi, bok choy, turnips, cabbage and kale, and many more plants ready to go in the ground soon. Next question - When will they be ready for you? Answer - Soon, so stay tuned in and I'll let you know as soon as I know.

Great things are coming to our community. I have spent the last 2 days in Illinois with the OKC Food Hub receiving training and mentoring from the nations best local food hub Down at the Farm. They join local farmers to buyers throughout Illinois serving over 100 small farms and connecting them to buyers in Chicago and through Illinois. Our friends from Think Regeneration hosted our visit and are committed to returning to Oklahoma in helping build a better local food system in our community. We can do the same thing here. Who's ready to have a healthier community while building up local farm economies? Stay tuned in 2026 as we build a new community together.
