Dear Friends,
Some wines are made. Others are coaxed into being, one patient decision at a time. Our two newest releases are the latter, one from Virtue Cellars, and one from our small-lot second label, Bonita Cellars, and we can’t wait to share them with you!
Virtue Cellars - 2025 Grace Reserve Chardonnay
Every grape in this bottle comes from a single source: Conner Lee Vineyard, a site we return to because it consistently gives us fruit of remarkable depth and precision.
The wine spent nine months in 100% new French oak, specifically Seguin Moreau Icône Blanc barrels, among the finest (and most expensive) barrels made for white wine. A final crossflow filtration brought the wine to its polished, brilliant state.
The result is opulent and layered, with a structured13.6% alcohol balanced by 7.1 g/L acidity, built to reward the cellar. Expect this Chardonnay to develop beautifully over the next 10+ years. Only 95 cases produced.
Bonita Cellars - 2023 Nicole Rhone Blend
This release comes from Bonita Cellars, our small-lot second label produced in tiny quantities and sold direct to you, never through stores or distributors.
A wine of place: 53% Grenache and 47% Syrah, grown together on Borderlands Vineyard in the celebrated Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA — a small pocket of Oregon known for its cobblestone soils, which trap daytime heat and give the fruit its signature intensity and high pH.
The two varietals were then aged separately in once-used French oak, the Grenache in a 500-liter puncheon, the Syrah in 225-liter Taransaud and Atelier barrels, for 22 months before coming together as one wine.
The result is unmistakably Rocks District: savory and aromatic, with notes of boysenberry, tangerine, and olive tapenade layered over a distinctive olive-brine minerality. At 13.8% alcohol and 4.2 g/L acidity, it’s a wine of texture and intrigue rather than sharpness, a true expression of this remarkable vineyard. Only 94 cases produced.
Both wines are produced in limited quantities and releasing today in our Edmonds tasting room. Come on down and try them before they’re gone!
As always, thank you for being the best part of the Virtue story.
