Today we celebrate an incredible man—our ranch manager, Herschel Cox on his 69th birthday!

Herschel is so much more than our ranch manager. He is family. He is the first one up, the last one to call it a day, and the steady hand that helps keep Sunday River Ranch running every single day.

A retired Sheriff and proud war veteran, Herschel has spent his life serving others—with honor, courage, and integrity. Even in retirement, his commitment to service never stopped. Today, he pours that same dedication into caring for our ranch, our cattle, and our family. There isn't a fence he won't fix, a problem he won't tackle, or a helping hand he won't offer.

We are incredibly blessed to have him living here on the ranch and sharing this journey with us. His wisdom, work ethic, loyalty, and friendship are gifts we never take for granted.

Herschel, thank you for everything you do and for being such an important part of the Sunday River Ranch family. We hope today is filled with the appreciation and joy you've earned through a lifetime of service.

Big Texas weekend is about more than great cattle — it’s about bringing together Wagyu families from across the country.

Jerome Landreneau and family from Sunday River Ranch on Thursday evening as attendees gathered ahead of the Big Texas events in Fort Worth. It's always great to see friends old and new reconnect, share stories, and celebrate the Wagyu industry together.
