If you ordered elderberry syrup this week, it is ready for pick up! They are located in the grey cooler in bags with your name on it!

Just a heads up, if you notice the color difference from previous orders, it is completely normal! We have processed the elderberries grown on our farm which are Sambucus canadensis - the native variety to the Midwest. These berries are black elderberry and can be used interchangeably from the European black elderberries usually purchased from herbal suppliers.

Elderberries native to our area generally produce a more pink juice, are sweeter, and are more gentle on the digestive system.

European varieties (which I will switch to once we run out of our home grown berries) are what you traditionally see when purchasing bulk herbs or store bought elderberry syrup. It is darker, more bitter, and can more readily cause mild GI upset if large a large amount is consumed at once.

Last call for elderberry syrup!

I will be making this week’s batch of elderberry syrup on on Monday morning. Please have your orders in by this evening 🙂

My elderberry syrup has elderberries Arronia berries, rose, hips, clove salon, cinnamon, Astragalus, ginger, lemon, and raw honey.

It is not heat sealed to preserve the benefits of the raw honey, so please make sure to keep this refrigerated. It should last 4 to 6 weeks in the fridge, but you can portion it out to freeze for up to six months.

This can be taken daily to boost the immune system and as an extra help if you’re feeling under the weather.

Because it is made with raw honey, it is not recommended for children under the age of one.

Pick up will be tomorrow after 4 PM

Also, we are currently sold out out of Comfrey balm!

I will be making another batch tomorrow and that will be available by 4 PM!

This will probably be the last round of comfrey balm, as it looks like we’re supposed to start getting below freezing next weekend and my plants will go dormant for the winter.

As we get closer to winter and Christmas, is there any interest in any of the Men’s Tallow line? I was thinking of making a small batch of The Woodsman, The Craftsman, and The Gentleman again but wanted to see if there was much interest first!

Comfrey is a great topical resource for healing minor wounds, bruises, and joint pain.

We also have Basil balm available for insect stings, inflammation, and muscle pain.

I have two Rash Balms left for the season. This is great for rashes of all varieties, insect bites or stings, and helping to soothe dry, irritated skin.

I know, you’re not supposed to pick favorites…. But it’s hard not to love sweet little Cedar! He is the last calf born this season, and unfortunately his momma has rejected him. We’ve tried to work with her and with our vet to try and help her bond with him. Ultimately, we’ve decided to do what is best for the baby and bottle feed him. One perk is extra sweet baby cow snuggles!
