Our roadside stand is stocked TODAY, 10/16, and we can’t wait to share all the goodies we’ve baked up! 💚 While our veggies are done for the season and our hens are slowing down, we’ve got some delicious baked goods you don’t want to miss.

Look at the beautiful variety of hens we have here at Clucking! Our property is home to a multitude of both rare and common breeds (not all are in the photo below):

- Anconas
- Ayam Cemanis
- Barred Plymouth Rocks
- Black Australorps
- Black Stars
- Blue Copper Marans’
- Blue Laced Red Wyandottes
- Blue Plymouth Rocks
- Buff Orpingtons
- Cinnamon Queens
- Golden Comets
- Gold Laced Wyandottes
- Isa Browns (this breed dominates our flock)
- Isabella Leghorns
- Lavender Orpingtons
- Light Brahmas
- Rhode Island Reds
- And one trusty Silkie rooster, Dorian, who is the oldest member of our flock at over 6 years old 👨🏼‍🦳

Our flocks ages range from 6 months old to 6 years old. When you buy eggs from us, you are buying from several generations of hens who have been kept safe and healthy on our farm for years. 🩵

The stand will remain closed through this weekend, but I hope this brings a smile to someone’s face!

🍂🥚 A LITTLE EGG UPDATE! 🐔🍂

As the seasons change and the days get shorter, our hens are naturally starting to slow down on their egg production. This is a completely normal part of the seasonal cycle, but it does mean we’ll have fewer eggs available than in the summer.

Because of this, egg orders may take a little longer to fulfill than usual. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding while our girls adjust to the changing seasons!

We’ll continue filling orders as eggs become available and will do our best to get everyone their fresh eggs as quickly as possible.

Thank you so much for supporting our little farm and being patient with our hens! 🥚🌻💙

Couple announcements:

1. The girls’ egg haul from today is out at the stand! Can’t get them any fresher than this. Grab them before they’re gone!

2. We are in need of egg cartons! If we run out, we are forced to raise prices to $5 per dozen. So if you have any egg cartons, please drop them in the blue basket. We appreciate it!

3. Please take one of our business cards! They have our old name on them, but they have my name and contact number so you can text me to see if I have any eggs in the house (if you happen to stop and there are no eggs in the cooler, sometimes I have some inside). You can also text me for baked good requests for the following weekend. Happy to accommodate our customers. I am way more apt to answer my texts than I am to answer Facebook messages.

4. Rudeness will never be tolerated! Please don’t message something passive aggressive or downright rude if we are out of stock of an item you came for. I do preorders for eggs, but everything else is FCFS.

Bosco felt offended that I posted about the other chickens and requested her own fanfare. She is too sweet to deny.
Bosco is the friendliest hen we have here and loves to be picked up and cuddled. She is approximately three and a half years old and considered extreme geriatric for her breed (which has a life expectancy of 3ish years). While she doesn’t lay eggs anymore, she keeps the younger girls in line and serves as a mentor to them.

And these black beauties were hatched out of our incubator in late May. They are Ayam Cemanis, a rare breed from Indonesia. They have black skin, black feathers, black eyes, black feet, and black meat. No black eggs though, weirdly enough. Those Indonesian chicken producers drew the line at black eggs.😂
There are three boys and one girl. Hopefully she keeps the boys in line!
Side note - I didn’t realize how small this breed was compared to other breeds. Kinda blows my mind when I see them holding their own against their bigger counterparts. That little girl especially holds her ground against the older hens.
