After earning the nickname “the Scone Lady” at the farmers’ market, she decided it was time to combine her British delicacies with the concept of a traditional tea room. There are a few spots left in my upcoming American/British Bake Off cooking class at the Missouri Botanical Garden.

I'll be making a selection of items that are similar but different! See which you prefer: sausage rolls or pigs in a blanket, biscuits and gravy or scones with clotted cream, Scottish shortbread or chocolate chip cookies. It's a busy, but fun class.

It's over a year since the tea room closed, how time flies!

A few weeks ago the building reopened as Cafe Birdie. As you can see from the photo, there have been quite a few structural changes.

Why not call by for a cuppa, yes, they serve hot tea, and in a (glass) tea pot too! Wish the new owners well, in their new business venture.
