How many yearlings does it take to get to the bottom of a feed bucket?! Yes, there’s another bucket. Yes, they enjoyed that one together too.

Too many people turn away from thoroughbreds due to their energetic personalities. Most people have the idea that they are impossible to train, unsafe around kids, or just plain “crazy”. Here at our farm, we pride ourselves on our OTTBs and their ability to adapt and relearn important skills. We strive to break the negative stereotypes on thoroughbreds, and help educate those who may not understand. Our horses are proof that an 8 year old girl can fall in love with a racehorse and he can love her back!

It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year since we took the reins of this racehorse farm! 🐴

We were blessed to have Jackie and Joe King pass the reins to us, and their guidance and support throughout this transition have meant more than we can say.

What a year it has been! We’re incredibly proud of the horses we’ve cared for, 5 healthy foals we’ve welcomed into the world, and the 5 kill-pen rescues we’ve had the privilege of bringing back to health and giving a second chance.

It hasn’t always been easy (because apparently horses didn’t get the memo about making life simple 😂), but every early morning, late night, muddy boot, and foaling-season sleepless night has been worth it.

Here’s to one year down, many more to come, and plenty more horses, foals, and farm adventures along the way! ❤️🐎

Today is the STL Derby!!
In light of the derby, here is River Bear, the horse with the most earnings on our farm. His career was very impressive here in Illinois. Now he just enjoys hanging with his pasture buddies, uncle Terry’s carrot visits, and knocking down food troughs. Never a dull moment with this gentle giant!
