We are proud to share that WILEY RANCH of Effie has already donated a bull to Texas State University for one year to support research efforts.

Kim Wiley had the pleasure of meeting some of the students in Kingsville, Texas, while celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Santa Gertrudis.

WILEY RANCH is also honored to donate a show heifer to support Texas State University’s show team in the coming year.

U.S. CATTLE REPORT 🐄📉 Kansas and Missouri Lead Cattle Inventory Declines in 2026 📉🐄

Cattle inventories declined in 2026, with the largest decreases reported in Kansas and Missouri, each down 100,000 head, followed by New Mexico at -90,000 head. Arizona and Wyoming each declined 60,000 head, while Iowa was down 50,000 head. Additional reductions included Louisiana (-40,000), Illinois (-30,000), North Carolina (-30,000), and Kentucky (-20,000). Montana, New York, and Oregon also each posted 20,000-head declines. In total, 23 states reported lower cattle inventories compared to the prior year.
