🤎 Meet the Family Behind JAR Farm Stand 🌾
Before we start filling the shelves and officially open JAR Farm Stand, we thought we should introduce the family behind it—and tell you why this little stand means so much to us.
We’re Jake & Jessica, and together we have six kids, with four still at home. Add in a farm full of animals, kids’ activities, appointments, chores and everyday life, and there is pretty much always something happening around here. 😂
Our family isn’t perfect or picture-book neat. It’s busy, sometimes chaotic, and very real—but it’s ours.
Our youngest son, Jack, is autistic, and farm life has become a pretty special part of his world. He loves animals, especially goats, and some of his happiest and most confident moments happen right here at home with dirt on his boots and an animal beside him. 🐐
And that brings us to the name JAR.
JAR comes from Jack’s full name: Jack Adam Reiss.
Jack’s middle name, Adam, carries a story of its own. He was named after Jake’s older brother, Adam, who passed away unexpectedly when Jake was young. Throughout our life together, we’ve always felt that Adam has been one of our angels—quietly watching over our family through some of the happiest, hardest and most unexpected chapters of our lives.
So JAR isn’t just a name or a logo.
It represents our son.
It remembers a brother.
And it represents a family and farm that have kept growing through every season life has handed us. 🤎
That’s a big part of why we’re creating JAR Farm Stand.
We wanted something our family could build together, right here at home. A place where we can share things we’ve grown, raised, baked, canned and created with our own hands.
Some weeks the shelves may be overflowing. Other weeks they might look a little different. That’s farm life. What’s available will change with the seasons, what we’re growing and what our family has been busy making.
We’re not trying to be a big store.
We’re just a family building something we’re proud of, teaching our kids along the way, supporting our farm and hopefully giving our community a fun little place to stop and find something made close to home.
So when you see JAR Farm Stand, now you’ll know there’s a whole lot more behind those three little letters.
