’Tis the season when some of our beautiful egg layers start slowing down a bit, while our brown egg layers keep pulling their weight.

Many of our high-production brown egg layers can lay 280+ eggs a year in their prime, while some of our darker brown, speckled, blue and green egg layers are more in the 180–220-ish range, depending on breed, age and season.

It’s one of the reasons our egg baskets start looking a little more brown this time of year — still just as pretty, just a different color palette. 🤎
