Cobalt Farm Cobalt Farm is a small farm producing quality rabbits, beef, goat meat, and raw milk. Cobalt Farm was started in 2015 in Rochester, NH.

We strive to create quality products that are affordable to all consumers. Because everyone deserves local food! We currently raise meat rabbits, dairy cattle, beef cattle, and meat goats. The farm was started by Kim Meader and Chris Garcia, who have since moved their farm to Effingham, NH. We ask that you call or email to place large orders or to see if we are open. Kim has received a Bachelor’s degree for Sustainable Agricultural and Food Systems from the University of New Hampshire. This has allowed us to utilize new ideas and old traditions, so we can strive for all our animals to live a life that makes us proud to be farmers.

Cobalt Farm’s Paid Holiday (Holly) made sure her mom clocked in for her shift today. Holly, is a registered Guernsey and the last of our dairy calves for this year. She is Lottie’s second calf but first heifer, we’re excited that her line gets to grow.

We’re starting something new this summer for our milk pickups! Our fridge has been moved to the porch and will be accessible for pickups Monday - Saturday 10am - 6pm, first come first serve unless you’ve placed an order ahead of time. We have enough cows and goats in milk currently that we won’t need to run of off scheduled pick ups for any orders less then 4 gallons. We’ll be able to keep some heavy cow cream in stock almost daily and the occasional heavy goat cream as well. Keep an eye out for some raw butter starting soon. If you’d like something set aside so you know it’ll be in the fridge when you get here, just ask.

Late last night we welcomed our last calf of May. Cobalt Farm’s Lemonhead Zucchini, was born only hours early of her official due date. We have been waiting on a heifer out of this bull for quite some time, so we’re pretty excited Zucchini finally decided to make her arrival. She is a daughter to Squash and a half sister to Pumpkin. She has very big shoes to fill as all of our Jerseys have aged like fine w**e. And my expectations just keep getting higher after seeing the others grow and mature. We have one more Jersey due this summer in mid June and we can’t wait to see how our Jersey herd will grow.

10 days early with our first calf of May. Owen, carries genetics from both the milking shorthorn line and the native shorthorn line. His genetics are a little pet project of mine. I was crossing fingers for a heifer so I could continue my little genetic science experiment but I’m quite pleased with this little bu**er either way. 🩵🐮

A little nap time in the nursery on a rainy afternoon will always be my favorite.
We started our calving season off in late March with Stonehedge Toro Lucia, owned by Peg Delong. We also started and ended our kidding season all in 24 hours at the beginning of the month with two perfect litters of twins. Cobalt Farm’s TailFeathers Dill is our only doe and her brother Cobalt Farm’s TailFeathers Nico were born to our first freshener Pickles. And our second freshener Buffy had two bucks, Cobalt Farm’s Grease Johnny and Cobalt Farm’s Grease Danny.
We have seven more cows due over the course of this summer and into early fall. All will be registered within their respective breeds and are highly anticipated.
