I grew tired of the phrase, “They either rap or go to the league.” When I look at our boys, I see endless possibilities—young men who can do anything they put their minds to. Unfortunately, our kids don’t have the representation in their adolescent years that allows them to dream beyond the reality of entertainment.

I decided to change that by writing a children’s book titled Akeem Keeps Bees. This book is about uncovering the magic and divinity of our youth in harmony with Mother Nature. The work at Sankofa is centered around bringing divinity back to our kids—kids whom society has given up on.

As a father of three young boys, I’ve vowed to commit my life to shaping a new reality for our sons, a reality that I believe will ultimately help heal our communities and society as a whole.

Honored to attend the Conference in Raleigh, NC, with fellow members of the State Young Farmer and Rancher Committee. The keynote from US Environmental Protection Agency () Regan addressed key initiatives, including partnerships for water testing to aid western NC communities affected by Hurricane Helene. I had the chance to connect with Administrator Regan afterward and we briefly discussed Sankofa Farms—always great to meet fellow Aggies ( ). Proud to be part of these essential conversations to help improve our environment.
