Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures from everyone at Horseshoe Bay Farms!

Today, we’re taking a pause to allow our staff and volunteers to spend time with family and celebrate the special people in their lives. As a result, no tours will be offered today. However, the property remains open for visitors to enjoy Stickwork and explore the gardens at their leisure.

Tours will resume on June 24th, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the farm soon!

We had an exciting morning on the farm!

One of our hives decided to split and swarm into a nearby tree. Fortunately, the cluster was close enough for us to safely collect and relocate into a new hive box. They're now settling into their new home, and we're hopeful everything goes smoothly. If all goes well, we'll officially have three hives!

Due to the Peninsula Century Spring Ride, tours will not be available today. We’re excited to once again serve as a host site for this wonderful event.

The property remains open for Stickwork and garden viewing. Please use caution while driving through the area, as there will be increased bicycle traffic throughout the day.

Ever wondered what goes on inside a beehive?

Join us on Friday, June 26th at 10:00 AM for a unique opportunity to explore the inner workings of a honeybee hive!

Get an up-close look at the bees, learn how the hive operates, and discover the important role these incredible pollinators play. Feeling adventurous? Suit up in a bee suit and get even closer to the action! We recommend wearing long pants if you'd like to participate up close.

Space is limited, so sign up online today and experience the buzz firsthand!

Can't make this session? Don't worry! We plan to host additional hive openings in July and are hoping to offer a special honey harvest experience in August. Stay tuned for more details!

It has been a busy and exciting first week open on the farm! We kicked things off by planting another 100 dahlia tubers, bringing us one step closer to a beautiful season of blooms ahead. We also spent time mulching around the garden, helping to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

We were also thrilled to host a few visitors and give farm tours, sharing our history on the property and showing the progress we've made so far.

One of the biggest highlights of the week was watching the foundation for our new greenhouse come together. Seeing this project move from plans to reality is incredibly rewarding and marks an exciting milestone for the farm. A huge thank you to Franke Masonry!
