Here at the market with the finished arrangements, garden fresh produce, fresh herbs, and body care products. I wish I would have taken more pictures earlier. Sold out of quite a bit. Down to 2 bouquets now. At least I quickly took this picture!❤️🙏🐝

Like a palette of paints, all the colors of the flowers will be arranged in an artistic expression for the Mountain Fresh Farmers Markets, Oakland, Maryland tomorrow. Garden fresh and grown with love! I’m looking forward to my coffee in the morning and carefully selecting each flower to complement each other with the star of the bouquet for the focal point. 💐

I got them switched into the hive boxes earlier today. That was quite the task. I got to see one of the queens. Wish I could have taken a picture, but there was no time for that! I hope to provide the community with raw, unpasteurized honey. There’s steps involved and I’m taking giant leaps! Lots to do and doing things in a positive light regardless of everything.

Another thing that brings me much joy is beekeeping. I started doing it 12 years ago and had an interest prior to that. I got 5 more nucleus colonies today. Building up the apiary.❤️🙏🐝

The first official bouquets of the season!! Super excited! I started the dianthus from seed last year and it’s in full bloom right now. The snapdragons overwintered and the blooms are stunning! When I started making bouquets years ago, it gave and gives me so much joy. And after everything that’s happened I’m doing what gives me joy full force. It will start out small, but as the season progresses,more and more blooms will blossom. I started a lot from seed and a late start in this, but in the future more and more colors, sizes, and shapes will unfold. It’s food for the soul. And the earth does laugh in flowers. And a perfect strawberry to match! I transplanted some last year and this spring. I planted them over a decade ago. I know I have to tend to them better for a better harvest and I’m doing my best to provide TLC. One season I did harvest over 15 quarts.

One of the things that brings me much joy is to watch the honeybees collecting nectar. These are wild blackberry blossoms. This year is a blessing with so many blooms. I pray that the harvest will be good. This is going to be a tough year for farmers, since it’s a super El Niño. It was a 100% loss for a lot of farmers with peaches, strawberries and more. The wild does adapt better, but still at the mercy of Nature. The more farmers, gardeners, and beekeepers the better the world will be. Whole foods that are not processed is the key to better health. And health is wealth!

While the official market doesn't start until June 5th. I'll be set up this Friday May 29th with some of our lovely vendors across the street from Big Timber.

Growing sweet potatoes for the first time this year. I’m starting to motivate to check off things I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. It’s a long list, but this is a start. Looking forward to the warmer weather coming up and getting these slips in the ground. It’s the little things in life that brings happiness.

A special thank you to Katie Alvarez and Mike Steyer working together on donating these honeybees. Mike delivered them a couple days ago and got them in the hive body. We got to see the queen! She has the blue dot on her. I hope for a good honey year and to be able to harvest some of the honey. I never take too much from the bees. They work so hard and they need it more. 🍯
