Blueberry Season Update ๐Ÿซ

Weโ€™re heading into the final stretch of blueberry season! This might be our last week open as we wait for the last 3โ€“4 rows to finish ripening.

If youโ€™ve ever wanted to know what the Olympics of blueberry picking looks like, this is it. ๐Ÿ…

There are still plenty of berries out there, but if youโ€™re hoping to fill a bucket in 15 minutes, that ship has sailed. Can you still fill a bucket? Absolutely. It just takes a little determination, patience, and maybe a competitive spirit.

So if youโ€™re one of our die-hard pickers looking for one last bucket before the season ends, grab some friends, bring a lawn chair, park yourself between a few bushes, and settle in.

Weโ€™re officially entering Field Therapy Season. ๐Ÿซโ˜€๏ธ

Slow down, enjoy the view, listen to the birds, and pick your way through the last berries of the year. The berries are still there for those willing to hunt for them. ๐Ÿ’™

Blueberry season is entering its Olympic phase. ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ…

This video was taken at 9 AM this morning, and there are still berries out there! They just arenโ€™t jumping into buckets anymore.

Youโ€™ll need a little patience, a little determination, and maybe the eyesight of a hawk, but the berries are still hiding in the bushes.

Weโ€™re doing our best to squeeze every last drop of blueberry season out of these plants so everyone gets a few more chances to pick before the season ends. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿšจ BLUEBERRY HOURS UPDATE ๐Ÿšจ

Please read the following with the most amount of these emojis ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ in your head as possible, your about to get a dose of my sense of humor ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰โ€” some of these tooโ€ฆ

Apparently some people think I personally control the weather.

I regret to inform you that I do not.

Because itโ€™s going to be HOT HOT, weโ€™re switching to evening picking this week:

๐Ÿซ Friday: 6 PM - 9 PM
๐Ÿซ Saturday: 6 PM - 9 PM

โ€œBut why do you call it the cool of the evening when itโ€™s still 100 degrees?โ€

Excellent question.

After 7 PM the field starts getting shaded, the irrigation kicks on, the ground begins to cool, and thanks to the creek running under our property it becomes significantly more pleasant than standing on red dirt in full sun at 10 AM when itโ€™s already trying to melt your shoes.

Truthfully, the best picking time is probably 5-7 AM.

Unfortunately the number of people excited to wake up before sunrise to pick blueberries can currently be counted on one hand. (Mostly me and my dad drinking hot coffee in complete silence. ๐Ÿ˜‚)

So weโ€™re embracing evening picking.

Bring a lawn chair. Pick a bucket. Stay awhile. Let the kids run around. Watch the sun go down over the field.

A friendly reminder that Mother Nature ultimately decides how long blueberry season lasts. We adjust days and hours based on weather, berry ripeness, field conditions, irrigation needs, and approximately 437 other things outside our control.

Weโ€™re not trying to ruin anyoneโ€™s summer plans, weโ€™re simply trying to keep everyone safe, comfortable, and picking the best berries possible in the shortest amount of time. When it started to take customers longer than 30 min to pick we typically chose for a few days to let it ripen.

See you in the field tonight and tomorrow night! โค๏ธ๐Ÿซ
