We harvested our last batch of broilers for this year. We had 23 birds that gave us 72lbs this batch.

As our chickens are getting closer to coming into lay, We are noticing the differences in our birds. We wanted a majority of “Black Australorps” for meat and egg production and some ”Easter Eggers” for blue eggs because, well who doesnt want blue eggs? But we ended up with 2 Minorcan roosters and 1 Minorcan hen mixed in with the lot. I guess the chicks for sale at our local Atwoods are just a roll of the dice. 🤷🏻‍♂️🐓
