Our History
We have always loved growing our own food, even when we lived in Norfolk, Virginia while Dwayne was in the Navy from 1987-1991, we tried to grow tomatoes in buckets, indoors and on really sunny days haul the plants up and down the stairs to get sunlight. Once we moved home to Arkansas in 1991 we became serious gardeners, but only for our family and friends.When we first started to garden, we did what many did that wanted fast and easy results, and used the fast growing magic box or mix found ended up turning our soil green. A few years later, I had a serious allergic reaction due to food allergies, with the strongest reactor being MSG. We had that Light bulb moment!!! We knew we were better and smarter and could grow and make our food in a better way. So, we started reading, and listening, and most importantly experimenting. By prayers, trial and errors, the help of many wonderful, supporting family members, and friends we are now Long’s Natural Farm. All of our seeds are organic, heirloom, and Non-GMO. We follow naturally grown and organic guidelines. We invite you to stop in for a visit every Wednesday and Saturday at The Farmers Market at MAD (Murphy Arts District) in El Dorado.
