Air Fryer Garlic Powder (No Dehydrator)
You need:
Fresh garlic cloves
Air fryer
Spice grinder/blender
Method:
Slice garlic very thin
Thin slices dry much better than whole cloves.
Air fry on the lowest heat
Set to 150°F–170°F if your air fryer allows.
Spread garlic slices in one layer.
Cook 2–4 hours, shaking every 20–30 minutes.
Check dryness
Garlic should be hard, dry, and crunchy—not bendy or soft.
If it still has moisture, keep drying in 15–30 minute intervals.
Grind
Blend or grind until powder.
Let the powder sit open for a few minutes after grinding to release heat/moisture.
Store airtight.
If your air fryer only goes to 200°F:
Use it in short cycles:
10–15 minutes at 200°F
Shake
Let it cool a little
Repeat until completely dry
Keep an eye on it because garlic can go from dried to bitter/burnt quickly.
Chef trick: add a few grains of rice to the jar when storing homemade garlic powder it helps absorb any leftover moisture.
