As I sit here contemplating fall pricing changes, one challenge I’ve consistently run into when comparing our pricing to the local market is what is actually considered a “ #1” crab.
Somewhere along the way, medium crabs have been mixed into this sizing and sold as . A 5 ¾” crab is a medium and should be graded as a #2. should consist of large and extra-large crabs. It isn’t up for debate.
My customers have this promise: For as long as I’m the captain of this vessel, a #1 will never contain mediums on my boat.
