Do you have contaminates in your water? The answer is, if you don't have water filtration then yes you do. The positive side to this news?
Well, I like to see the bright side of this - municipalities post and share what is in the water they are working with! How great is that?! They alert you when contaminates are entering your water supply that they many not necessarily have control over. What that means for you? It means you get to take action to protect yourself!
Many contaminates can leach into our water systems, whether you are on municipality water or a personal well. What changes from home to home is not only the source of the water, but where you are located and what is around you.
Things to consider when thinking about where your water comes from and what can enter/absorb into our water systems - Salt and chemicals used to control snow and ice, fertilizers or additives used in gardens or farms, various decomposing waste from litter, animals and people, PFAS from products used to put out fires and so on. All of those items that are around and soaking into the land, can get into the plumbing infrastructure of towns and cities.
How do we move forward? Well I cannot speak for everyone, however what I can say is filter your water. From whole home to point of use, there is a solution for the concern you have with your water. Lead in the water - no issue, we have certified lead removal filtration available. Hard water - got it, lots of styles of softeners, sediments - yup have lots of size, style and options for all sorts of kinds of sediments, iron in water - bring on the UV lights and breakers, and don't forget those RO systems that are the absolute best for drinking and cooking!
