Hi everybody! We've been busy in Elgin these past few years.. We expect to do some work toward an urban mini-farm in 2018. We're not on FB all that much and will try to keep you all posted. Thank you so much for your support of shades of Green Farm!

We have sold our farm and are settling into our home in Elgin. Loving being in town and I'm eager to grow our fledgling urban mini farm! Fun!

Twice a year the migrating cranes and their friends fly over our farm! I know I'm a goofball but I run outside waving up to them and wishing them well on their journey. Our farm is about 3 hours north, as the crane flies, from the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, where most of these birds over winter. Today I've welcomed about 50 so far - here's a pic. I know they just look like dots to you, but to me they are a dear part of of my year.

We decided to raise a few broilers for ourselves. so we got babies today! Only 15, so should be gobs easier than 200!
