Nothing speaks more about Halloween, than a hand-carved pumpkin around the home. The local Fayette Take A Kid Outdoors (TAKO) chapter is inviting families to come and create their own personal Jack O’ Lantern for their home. The event is free and open to the public and will be held on Saturday, October 11th, from 1-3pm at the Phil and Deb Kahler Farm, 22651 Canoe Rd, just west of Elgin near the NFV School. Families attending can come and go during the event as their time allows. For safety purposes, the kids will draw faces on the pumpkins and then adults and volunteers will do the face carving. The pumpkins will be available for purchase, or you can bring your own. With cleaning the pumpkins, it’s advised that work type clothes be worn and prepare to get messy, plus dress for the weather accordingly. Parents or guardians are reminded that they should remain with their children during the event.
