The journey taken by our Egg Delivery Driver everytime a customer comes to collect their eggs. This is the reason why I ask for a ETA and for you a message before you leave. I do sometimes on a whim make the journey with Dilys without that confirmation they have left and go by the time customers say they will be here. 25 mins in the Texas sun for Dilys is enough to make her sweat. Just know not only will you get delicious eggs but you also get them handed to you with a smile, wave and sometimes a baaaaaaaa

Homesteaders what do you do with your slightly older extra eggs?

One of our girls favourite treats. Scrambled eggs with shells. We went away on vacation for 2 weeks in July and ended up with a Fridge full of eggs. I won't sell older eggs as I pride my self on farm fresh. So after using the same batch this morning for my families breakfast. An extra 40 have been cooked up as a protein and calcium boost to my girls.
I will eat refrigerated unwashed eggs for upto 3 to 5 months. Most grocery store eggs are already more than 2 months old when you get them home. When you buy from me those eggs have been laid no more than 2 weeks. However recently more sales and now I'm looking at getting my incubator out and expanding my flock. This week I'm already sold out!!!

Those eggs were laid by my hens just yesterday and Sunday. They are as fresh as can be. Supermarket eggs can be anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks old when you buy them. Plus these chickens run around free from dawn to dusk, foraging, catching bugs and the occasional snake 😅

Got our first delivery of farm fresh eggs this morning thanks to Hailey's Happy Hens Homestead!!
