We’re opening soon, I swear! 😂 We have a lot we’re working on at the moment for a great season including visits with our , , ducks and goats and a place to sit down and enjoy your treats after a walk at the Goodwin Trail next door!

Look who’s joined the family! We love them so much 💕

People have asked why we chose highlands… First, they’re a smaller, more docile breed which is good for a small homestead. Yes they produce less milk than a dedicated milk breed; however, what we lose in milk production we gain in these other qualities. We don’t need a massive amount of milk for our household needs anyway.

Scottish Highlands do well on less than perfect pasture and have even been known to clear brush. Our property was abandoned for 10 years and neglected for even longer. We may put them on this job since the goats have failed us.

Now for the challenges - she’s never been milked. So the mom and the dam raised baby both need to be broken in. We’re hoping to train the baby young so we can milk her in the future.

Does anyone have highlands and can offer up some advice for us regarding milking and breaking them in?

We have a few mini bourbon pecan pies out at the stand right now. I was able to fit some in while completing pie preorders today. We hope to be up and running very soon with some changes to what we offer! Thanks for everyone’s patience ❤️

In celebration of cider season we opened up a 4 yr old hard cider bottle from Jason’s handpicked wild apples with maple syrup batch.

These apples were pressed in our 1872 apple press. This was made when starting our little farm was just a dream!

We were all blown away by how good it was! This was by far the best bottle. It tasted like a good wine - soooo smooth, dry, no puckering finish… this recipe is a winner and will be made again.

We can’t wait for some apple pressing community get togethers in the near future 🍎😊

Farm fresh pasture raised chicken eggs $5/dozen. Our chickens eat mostly pasture from non sprayed and non fertilized fields and are supplemented with organic, non-gmo chicken grain.
